Jessa Seewald Shuts Down Rumors She Gets Money From Daddy
Former Counting On star Jessa Seewald isn’t holding back. After receiving a rumor-fueled comment from a fan, the Duggar daughter shared a snappy response, denying the claim.
But this isn’t the first time that Jessa has clapped back at fans on social media. Because she grew up in the spotlight, she has over two million followers just on Instagram. While she does receive lots of kind messages from fans, there are plenty of negative comments on her page at times. It’s simply part of her being in the public eye.
While some of her family members have restricted their Instagram comments sections, she’s kept the comment option on.
She isn’t afraid to respond in a snappy way when the negative comments come pouring in, though. So, what prompted Jessa’s latest response, and what’s all of this about?

On Instagram this week, Jessa shared the news that she and her husband, Ben Seewald, are moving. They are in the process of fixing up a house for their family of six to move into soon. While many fans are excited for the Seewalds, plenty have negative things to say.
Recently, rumors have been swirling that Jessa is still financially dependant on her father, Jim Bob Duggar. Fans wonder how Jessa and Ben can afford to raise four children. Ben recently became a pastor, but before that, fans didn’t know much about his occupation.
There is also speculation that Jim Bob is controlling what his kids share on social media, too. It’s unclear what the truth is, but Jessa appears to want to set the record straight.
So, when Jessa shared that she’s moving into a new home, someone mentioned Jim Bob paying for it. The Instagram user wrote, “Awe! What a nice gift from your daddy…” The fan also added an eye roll emoji.
In response, Jessa didn’t hold back. She decided to shut down the rumors and hopefully tell fans the truth about her financial situation. The former TLC star wrote, “That is so stupid and an outright lie.”
Over on YouTube, she received another similar comment. This time, a fan says “Jessa gets reward from her dad Jim Bob for following his rules.”
In response, Jessa wrote, “I love my dad, but if you think he had anything to with this house, you’re mistaken. We stand on our own two feet, thank you.”
