Derick Dillard Acknowledges Comment About Duggars In ‘Cult?’
Derick Dillard recently received a comment about his wife Jill’s family being a part of a “cult.” After receiving the comment, he publicly acknowledged it. So, how did the former TLC’s Counting On star respond to the message?
For months, Duggar critics have been questioning the family’s beliefs. Some have even claimed that their religion is actually a “cult.” While this hasn’t been proven, it looks like fans now want to share their thoughts with other members of the family, including Derick. As you might know, Jill and Derick have distanced themselves from the rest of the family.
On social media, Derick recently shared a side-by-side photo of himself 10 years ago and today. He wrote, “10 years ago, I was working in Nepal, where I would meet my wife, @jillmdillard at the end of the next year. Crazy how time flies and to think of all that’s happened since then.”
Though Derick’s most recent Instagram post doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with cults or religious beliefs, a fan had something to say. Maybe the part about meeting Jill prompted the comment because she’s a part of the Duggar family.

One fan commented on Derick’s post and showed their appreciation for him and how he is always there for his wife, Jill. The fan writes, “Thank you for being a strong anchor for your wife. People outside the fundie cult see you and appreciate you.”
Interestingly, Derick ended up “liking” this comment, along with 26 other people. Could this be a sign that he sees his wife’s family as part of a “fundie cult?”
We don’t know for sure why Derick “liked” the comment. He could have been “liking” the comment for the part about him supporting his wife rather than the “fundie cult” part.
While Derick “liking” the comment does make a statement, it’s unclear what it means exactly. He didn’t come out himself and accuse the Duggars of being a part of a “fundie cult” or anything. Nonetheless, he acknowledged the comment and the fact that someone referred to the Duggar family’s religion as a “fundie cult.”
