Meri Brown Says She Does Not Feel Like Part Of The Family

Meri Brown is feeling like an outsider once again. In a sneak peek for the new episode of Sister Wives, she claims that she doesn’t feel close to her husband Kody Brown. She doesn’t feel like she has a husband anymore. Though Meri has made a conscious effort to work on their relationship, Kody doesn’t want to reciprocate.

He’s told Meri that he only considers them as friends. In the previous season of the TLC show, the two tried going on dates. Meri wanted some kisses and affection, but Kody wouldn’t show her any. Their relationship hasn’t improved since the catfishing scandal.

Meri Brown might leave the family?

It’s obvious that the couple has been struggling for years. Meri and Kody can’t move on from her unfaithfulness and their apparent issues. In the new episode, she feels that she’s no longer a part of the family. Does that mean she’s the next one to leave?

Us Weekly shared the exclusive sneak peek of the Sunday, January 9, episode of Sister Wives. Meri speaks to Robyn Brown about their respective relationship with Kody. It’s clear how different the two relationships are since Kody is closer to Robyn than he is with his other wives. It’s made it harder on his wives during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kody has been spending all of his time with Robyn. She’s not particularly happy about it since she never gets “me” time. She misses those nights when she gets to sit in bed with a good book. Instead, she has to sit and listen to Kody ramble. This increased quality time has put a strain on their relationship.

“I did not sign up to be in this family to only have Kody in my life,” Robyn tells Meri Brown. “As much as I love Kody and it is great to have him around, it is stressing me out. I’m worried about the kids that aren’t seeing their dad, and I’m worried about the wives that aren’t seeing Kody.”

Meri noticed how different her relationship with Kody is. She admitted that she feels like the “outsider” of the family. In her confessional, she says that it doesn’t feel like Kody is her husband anymore. She’s not sure what to do.

Sister Wives marriage has been strained for some time

Meri Brown wed Kody from 1990 to 2014. The two legally divorced in 2014 so that he could adopt Robyn’s three children from a previous relationship. Meri and Kody still share a spiritual union to this day, but it’s been hard on the couple. In February 2021, he admitted to Us Weekly that the two have been in “a very dark place for a long time.”

Kody feels like they’re just friends than partners. In the new episode, Robyn assures Meri that their relationship will get back on track. Meri echoes Kody’s statements that he only sees her as a friend. Robyn is still holding out hope for the couple. She has a feeling that it could start something new for them.

“She’s mourning the relationship that she had, the relationship lost, the marriage that she’s lost, and I understand that. I validate it,” Robyn explains in her confessional. “It’s sad, but I don’t know that it’s ever going to be what it was, but it could be something new.”
