Fans of The Golden Girls were shocked to hear of the passing of TV and movie icon Betty White on Friday, December 31. She died just weeks shy of her 100th birthday and recently had her last interview with People magazine. Betty was also getting ready to celebrate her birthday with a one-day movie celebration in theaters on January 17. Will the film celebration air in memoriam to the beloved star? In the meantime, many fans of the iconic sitcom, The Golden Girls have a yearning to watch it again. Where can you stream this beloved sitcom?

Betty White and The Golden Girls

When it comes to timeless comedies, few have retained such a lasting legacy as The Golden Girls. It was one of those shows that unexpectedly hit high viewership, mainly because it proved that age is but a number. The comedy starred Betty White, along with Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty, four “more mature” ladies sharing a home.

Betty starred as the lovable, ditsy Rose Nylund to Bea’s strong-headed Dorothy and Rue’s man-hungry, Southern Belle Blanche. Meanwhile, Estelle played Dorothy’s outspoken Italian mother, Sophia. Through its life on NBC, The Golden Girls became one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time.

Is the sitcom available on Netflix?

Netflix is often the go-to streamer for popular shows. In fact, as recently reported, the classic show Knight Rider is now on the streaming giant. However, is it possible to stream the NBC, Emmy-award-winning classic The Golden Girls on Netflix?

Regrettably, while Netflix has many great shows, The Golden Girls has never been available on the streaming channel. While Netflix doesn’t have the sitcom available, the good news is that it did find a home on Hulu in recent years. For anyone longing to rewatch their favorite episodes and catch up with the hilarious Betty White, Hulu reportedly has all seven seasons available. Families can also introduce younger members of the family to the popular and iconic sitcom.

Hulu has The Golden Girls and The Golden Palace

The even better news is that starting in January 2022 fans will also be able to stream the spinoff to the sitcom, The Golden Palace. That series will be available for the first time on Hulu from January 10, 2022. While it is only one season, The Golden Palace is the ideal follow-up to the original sitcom. The spinoff features the entire The Golden Girls cast, with the exception of Dorothy. Regrettably, Bea Arthur passed away on April 25, 2009, at the age of 86.
