Last weekend, When Calls The Heart shared a sneak peek into Season 9. However, this sneak peek included quite a shocker. Two more characters will not be in Hope Valley for Season 9!

That means five total people are not going to be returning. Are any of the missing characters your favorites?

When Calls The Heart Season 9 Without Jesse, Clara

The breaking news from Hope Valley is that When Calls The Heart will be without Jesse and Clara (Aren Buchholz and Eva Bourne). In this Hallmark sneak peek, we get the whole story.

In this scene, Bill Avery (Jack Wagner) is hanging out with the Canfields. Although Minnie (Natasha Burnett), remains silent, the rest of the Canfields have a lot of questions about Jesse and Clara.

The concession starts with Angela (Vienna Leacock) asking, “Where are Jesse and Clara?”

Joseph (Viv Leacock) replies to his daughter, “Homesteading in Montana.”

Now Cooper (Elias Leacock) chimes in. “Why did they move so far away?”

Joseph, who knows a bit about moving his family for better opportunities, shared that for this young couple, they did not want to miss out on a big chance. As the Canfields eat their breakfast, Bill continues to read a letter from Clara.

Jesse’s digging another well since the first one dried up. Neither of us can remember the last time we saw a drop of rain, but our spirits remain high and we’re happy. Well, time to milk Mags, our goat. Please say hello to everyone, love Clara.

Hearties may be in a bit of shock that Clara and Jesse are away from Hope Valley. Their storyline was a big part of WCTH Season 8. Fans may recall that the final episode of the last season started with Jesse being caught out in a storm, and Nathan finding him.

Paul Greene Not back For When Calls The Heart Season 9

Hearties who follow Paul Greene on social media may already be aware that Dr. Carson Shepherd will not be part of When Calls The Heart Season 9.

Although Greene did star in Hallmark’s Christmas CEO for 2021 Countdown to Christmas, he was not part of the Season 9 filming. Neither Paul nor WCTH co-creator Brian Bird commented on why he was not part of the upcoming season. However, most fans assumed it was because Paul Greene was preparing to be a father for the second time.

Currently, Paul Greene and fiancée Kate Austin are enjoying time with their newborn baby boy named Austin. The baby was due around Thanksgiving but was not born until December.

Taylor Twins Not Back, Who Is Replacing Them?

Lastly, someone new is playing Baby Jack, or Little Jack as he is now called. That is because the Taylor Twins, Lincoln and Gunner, will no longer be playing him on When Calls The Heart Season 9.

The Taylor twins decided to take a year off. Instead, newcomer, Hyland Goodrich will be portraying the little boy.

Hearties, are you surprised that When Calls The Heart Season 9 has so many major cast changes?

  1. U took out some of the best characters n I’m glad Lori Loughlin is back ,still not sure if I’ll watch the series to many characters missing changes the shows dynamics…

  2. The show has been skating on pretty Ice for the last season or two. Things that make the drama but ARE not truth of the time. If Lori comes back, I go. Don’t give me the second chances speech. What she did was plain and simple breaking of the law if you are I get it we couldn’t get a job for the rest of our lives. I cut her nails slack she knew better.
