Josh Duggar Allowed To Access Computer Behind Bars

Though he’s in jail, it’s been revealed that former TLC star Josh Duggar is allowed to use a computer. As you may know, the 19 Kids & Counting alum was arrested in the spring for receiving and possessing child porn. In his trial this fall, he was found guilty and immediately booked into the Washington County Jail in Arkansas. He’s awaiting sentencing now.

Ahead of his arrest, the disgusting downloads were traced back to his IP address, revealing his location. During the investigation, his devices were confiscated and examined.

When Josh was arrested, he was released on conditions until his court date. He went to live with the Rebers, who are friends of the Duggars. There, he was expected to follow several rules. He wore a GPS tracking device, was not to be around children, and he couldn’t access the internet. These rules make sense due to the nature of his crimes.

While Josh was staying with the Rebers, he wasn’t allowed to be on any devices that had access to the internet. Now that he’s behind bars, he does have a chance to use a computer, though. So, what changed, and why is he allowed to use a computer, given the circumstances?

Why Josh Duggar Has Computer Access Behind Bars

In a new Instagram post on Tuesday, Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball revealed that Josh has computer access. This topic came up because Katie obtained access to Josh’s jail visitation log. According to the log, Anna has been visiting Josh multiple times per day in his 19 days behind bars so far.

The log reveals that these visits are done on the computer with video. So, Josh has access to a computer to talk to his wife and anyone else who wishes to visit with him virtually.

This might be strange to you if you think about Josh’s crimes. However, he may be restricted so he can only use the computer for virtual visits. Perhaps there are programs on the computer to control what he has access to. Maybe he’s only allowed to use the computer during scheduled visits.

So, do you think that it’s odd that Josh Duggar has access to a computer despite the nature of his crimes? Do you assume that there are restrictions on the computer he’s using to ensure it’s only for communicating with his wife? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
