Part 2 of 28-year-old Corey Phelps’ episode of Too Large recently premiered on TLC and it left viewers wanting a 2021 update on him and where he is now. Fortunately, the openly gay, Britney Spears-obsessed individual is very active on social media. So, it isn’t too harder to get an update on where he is and what he’s doing with his life. In fact, he posted a video featuring his reactions to his episode on Instagram just a few days ago.

Who Is Corey?

Too Large is a series that follows overweight individuals seeking the help of Dr. Procter. The series premiered on Discovery+ back in June of 2021. It has since been picked up by TLC and renewed for a Season 2. When we met Corey Phelps, he weighed 664 pounds. He told the camera his body made him feel like he was trapped in a prison.

Being my size is really hard. It’s painful. Physically, mentally, emotionally. I’ve definitely been through a lot of fat-shaming.”

Too Large Corey Phelps 2021 Update: Where Is He Now?

The second episode of Too Large tells the story of Corey Phelps from Georgia. He reached a point in his life where he felt stuck. Trapped in his own skin. Corey became a fan favorite because of how motivated he was to drop the weight. His sassy and charming personality was also well-received. Fans also adored watching Corey swoon over Dr. Procter.

As fans recall, Corey was given a weight loss goal of 50 pounds to get surgery. He blew past that goal and dropped 82 pounds.

During his episode, he spent most of his time focused on his physical health. Unfortunately, the pandemic cut his weight loss journey short and forced him to put a pause on his surgery. According to Distractify, he did not let the pandemic cause him to backslide. He continued to lose weight and eventually had the surgery. In fact, he’s dropped over 300 pounds!

Reacting to his episode, Corey crucified producers for “creating drama.” He also revealed on YouTube that he was requested to pay for the therapist he saw out of his own pocket. Corey Phelps clues fans in on how heavily edited his episode was including what he says during the episode.

Today, he is studying Human Services at Kennesaw State University. He recently revealed on Instagram that he’s on track to get his Bachelor’s Degree in 2022.

    He’s such a loving, positive intelligent young man that knows his own self worth. THATS BIG!
    Loved him coming on here to tell the world abt his experience and how he felt abt producers not respecting him.
    He has the biggest heart and just wanted to say we will follow him and his progress and life for a long time.
