Josh Duggar’s Original Failed Defense Finally Revealed?
Josh Duggar has been convicted in his child porn case, but new details about his family and the trial continue to surface. Many sources have come forward with personal stories about the Duggar family.
During Josh’s trial, the defense argued that the disgusting content found on his computer could have been accessed remotely. The defense also attempted to stress the importance of the router despite the devices being in the investigators’ possession.
Ultimately, Josh’s defense failed and the jury found him guilty after deliberating for several hours. Now, the former 19 Kids & Counting star is in jail awaiting sentencing and will spend up to 40 years in federal prison.
While Josh’s defense failed, it apparently wasn’t the original defense his legal team had planned. So, what was the first defense, and why did that one crumble?
Details of Josh Duggar’s defense surface.
In a new social media post on Monday, Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball shared additional defense details she learned from a source close to the family.
Katie reveals that she has learned what actually happened in the chambers. In her post, she writes, “According to my source, prosecutors were able to prove in chambers that Caleb Williams was not in Arkansas on the days the crimes were committed. According to my source, Judge Brooks decided to exclude Caleb Williams as a witness because he could not be accused of being the person who downloaded the CSAM.”
Caleb is a friend of Josh’s family and was previously rumored to be dating Jana Duggar. The source says that Josh looked scared after learning Caleb couldn’t be a witness. According to the source, Anna Duggar thought Caleb had downloaded the material on Josh’s work computer.
Katie then adds, “After the defense could not use Caleb Williams as a witness, their entire case fell apart.” When the defense had to rest, Josh was “terrified.”
The source believes that this made Josh realize there was no way to get out of it.
Also according to the source, Jason Duggar, one of Josh’s younger brothers was “undecided” on the verdict. The source thinks that Anna still believes her husband is innocent.
