Carlin Bates Gets Candid About Depression
Carlin Bates tends to keep things positive on social media. She shares lots of pretty pictures of her family and keeps fans up-to-date on her life. Many Bringing Up Bates fans enjoy following her and getting updates on her pregnancy, as well as her one-year-old daughter, Layla.
Aside from a few scary health updates when Layla was young, not too many of Carlin’s posts have been “negative.” Of course, fans didn’t mind the updates about Layla and wanted to know that the little girl was okay.
However, while things are pretty upbeat on Carlin’s Instagram page, she recently shared a peek behind the scenes, revealing that there is something going on behind all of her family photos. So, she decided to open up to fans and give them some insight into her real life.

On her Instagram stories on Monday, Carlin revealed that things aren’t so easy in this “season.” The young mother is halfway through her pregnancy with baby number two, a boy, and is staying home with her daughter, Layla. The conversation about her mental health began with a clip of Carlin’s messy house after a busy weekend.
She wanted fans to see her “real life,” and they appreciated it. She received lots of messages and ended up sharing more about what goes on behind the scenes.
While talking to fans via social media, Carlin said, “My life is not always perfect. I know that Instagram, a lot of times, is the highlight reel, but especially this pregnancy. I did not have the same emotional feelings that I am this time. And just, like, physically it’s just been really hard.”
She continues, “You can ask my husband. He will tell you it’s either like high or a low. And I’m like so easily depressed, so easily overwhelmed.”
Carlin adds that this is why she hasn’t been on social media so much lately. Behind the scenes, she’s been focusing on what’s most important. She hopes fans don’t feel alone if they’re dealing with the same kinds of emotions right now. She also points out that she doesn’t want her account to be all depressing, adding, “Life is so good.”

Carlin is so fake
