‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Katie Shares Her ‘Bittersweet Goodbye’
It’s both a happy and sad time for Bringing Up Bates star Katie and the rest of her family. There are lots of big changes ahead for the young woman. While she, her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews are all excited for her, these changes also come with a hard goodbye.
As we’ve reported, Katie married Travis Clark in early December. The pair documented their honeymoon via social media. And now, they’re off to another adventure. The newlyweds are moving to New Jersey, which is where Travis’ family lives. The Bates family lives in Tennessee. Because Katie has been living near her family, this will be a big adjustment for her.

In a new Instagram post on Friday, Katie revealed that the time has officially come for her to leave her parents’ home. The Bates daughter writes, “Bittersweet goodbye… headed to our new home in Jersey, but I’m sure gonna miss these people 🤍”
Hopefully, Katie will share more updates when she and Travis get settled in their new place. They previously revealed that they were fixing up a home, but it’s unclear whether it’s ready for them to move in yet. Because Katie is pretty active on social media, she will probably share photos and videos of their home.
Katie shared more photos of herself saying goodbye to her family on her Instagram stories. In the photos, she’s hugging each of her siblings and parents. Along with the pictures, she wrote, “Miss you already.” It looks like many of her siblings were able to be there to say goodbye.
So far, Katie’s parents, Gil and Kelly Jo haven’t shared a post about her leaving. But the day before Katie’s wedding, Kelly Jo shared a heartfelt message about the changes ahead.
She wrote, “Tomorrow you will still be my sweet baby girl that I will love and treasure and laugh with and cry with and even pout with when you feel like pouting… and tomorrow your mom will be cheering you on, praying for you, and crying like a baby to watch you go!”

Will we ever see Katie & Travis is any of the Bringing Up Bates episodes. I hope so. I miss seeing the Bates family, that means everyone & their spouses & kids & newlyweds. It just won’t be the same without the whole family.
