Hilary Duff Back In Hulu Comedy ‘How I Met Your Father’ Check-Out, First Peek

What We Know About The How I Met Your Mother Sequel
Over the summer, TV Shows Ace reported that the series Hilary Duff originally starred in, Younger, was officially done. Younger fans held out hope that a spin-off would make its way to Paramount +. Sadly, the show’s creator, Darren Star, confirmed that there will not be a spin-off.
It seems nearly simultaneously that the How I Met Your Father announcements started flowing. Hilary Duff shares a behind-the-scenes look at filming on her Instagram. In the series, the mother of three plays the leading lady, Sophie. The plotline follows her as she navigates the 2022 dating scene.
While the initial images for How I Met Your Father look like they’re from the iconic bar from HIMYM, there’s been back and forth on whether or not that’s the case. For the sequel, it was thought that the story takes place on the West coast. However, Entertainment Weekly reports that the story does take place in New York City.
It is uncertain if HIMYM fans will see members of the original cast. However, there are big names associated. From This Is Us, fans may recognize Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger in the credits. The feel of HIMYM is likely to still be there because the original creators, Carter Bays, and Craig Thomas are on board with the sequel. Also on an interesting note, Hilary Duff is listed as a producer.
First Peek At Hilary Duff Back In Hulu Comedy How I Met Your Father
Earlier today (Dec. 16), Entertainment Weekly exclusively shared the first trailer for the Hulu exclusive comedy. Throughout the trailer, Josh Peck (Drake and Josh) makes several appearances. Also, Francia Raisa (The Secret Life of an American Teenager) plays Sophie’s roommate, Valentina.
It appears that the narrator and older version of Sophie is played by Kim Cattrall. Similarly to HIMYM, the story is narrated to Sophie’s son. The monologue goes on to explain how complicated things are in 2022, especially for dating. Duff’s Sophie character shares that she’s been on 87 Tinder dates in the last year. However, the last one was the worst one.
