Captain Sandy Yawn addressed her future with the Below Deck franchise. Fans best know her for her appearance on Below Deck Mediterranean. She’s been part of the show since the second season. Previously, Captain Lee Rosbach made headlines for his potential departure from the show. Now, Sandy is the one answering the same question.
Next year, she will take part in her first-ever tour across the country. However, it does not seem that it will impact her job. Below Deck Med Season 8 is already wrapped up production. Still, the rumors regarding Sandy’s future with the show come amid her nationwide Lead-Her-Ship Tour. She will use these public speaking events to talk about her sobriety and life as a yacht captain.
What is the Lead-Her-Ship Tour?
It’s not your typical tour. It’s not a music or book tour. Sandy’s fans will get a closer look into her life. She will talk about how she got into the yachting industry. Other topics will include her arrest, drinking, heart attack, sobriety, among other topics. Nothing will be left off the table. Sandy wants to be as open and honest as possible.
Some would say that she has enough material to write her own book. That could come in the near future. While the Bravo star intends to talk about everything, she will not speak about her co-stars. She will not go there. Sandy wants to keep her events inspiring and encouraging for her fans.
“I keep the focus on me and not point the fingers at others,” Captain Sandy Yawn told Distractify. “I use myself as the subject matter to show how I navigate through life, and how I went from a mess to being a yacht captain, to getting on television.”
Just because she won’t talk about her co-stars doesn’t mean there won’t be a special appearance by one. The goal of her tour is to inspire people to better their own lives. She’s already done that with her social media platform. Sandy’s using that tour as an extension of her brand, so she can reach more people.
Is Captain Sandy Yawn leaving Below Deck Mediterranean?
There are questions surrounding Sandy’s future with the show. She addressed those questions in her interview with Distractify. She admitted that she will continue to be a part of the Below Deck franchise as long as the producers want her. The reality star has no plans to leave.
“As long as Bravo will have me back, I’ll keep coming back,” Captain Sandy Yawn said. “I love the network. They’re amazing people. I love doing the show, and I love inspiring new crew.”
The reason why she loves her job so much is that it shows people the realities of being a captain. Even if she’s taking on this new venture, she says that “yachting is my passion.” She’s happiest when she’s at sea. She credited Bravo and the producers for “bringing this show to life.” Sandy also formed some close friendships on the show, including boatswain Malia White and chief stew Christine “Bugsy” Drake.
