Arkansas Residents Thrilled With Josh Duggar Verdict, Here’s Why
There have been many reactions to Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict, which came out on Thursday, December 9. His family, fans, critics, and others have been sharing their thoughts on the situation. Now, Arkansas residents have something to say about the guilty verdict.
As you may know, Josh was arrested in the spring for receiving and possessing child pornography. The eldest Duggar son’s trial began on Tuesday, November 30. On Wednesday, December 8, the jury began deliberating. They asked to resume their deliberations the following morning at 8:30 a.m. Just a few hours later, Josh was declared guilty and booked into the Washington County Sheriff’s Office shortly after 12 p.m.
Josh reportedly had tears in his eyes, while his wife remained “stoic.” That evening and the following day, his family began sharing statements on his arrest. So far, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, Derick and Jill Dillard, Ben and Jessa Seewald, and Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo have all spoken out. Jason Duggar seemingly sided with Jinger and Jeremy by praising their statement.
So, what do those in the Duggar family’s home state have to say about the guilty verdict?
Arkansas locals react to Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict.
Fox News spoke with several local Arkansas sources who shared their thoughts on Josh’s guilty verdict. Across the board, those who are speaking out seem to be happy with the outcome of the trial.
One resident said, “I’m really shocked that the truth was actually recognized. I’m not shocked at the verdict, but shocked that somebody finally listened. Vindication isn’t even close to the word. It’s just more empathy for his sisters and the victims.”
They also discussed Josh’s past scandals, which he didn’t really have to pay any consequences for. They said, “He’s belonged in prison for a long time. You can only admit guilt so many times. He admitted it, that’s the thing. Everybody was screaming at the top of his lungs he was guilty. It took all this for someone to listen.”
Another source opened up to Fox, saying, “From the very beginning I genuinely believe that is what this is. I of course hope he gets the full 40 years and am thankful that the jury had the evidence needed to see through his clothing.”
Someone else said, “A lot of people in this community seem ecstatic by the verdict.”
