Wait, are Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar at risk of losing their children? According to Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball‘s recent discussion with attorney Rebecca Rouse, this is a possibility. As we previously reported, Derick and Jill Dillard issued a statement following Josh’s arrest that referred to his behavior as an epicenter with rippling effects that would cause chaos and fallout throughout the family. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar losing their children could be one of those very damaging rippling effects.
Wondering why Josh’s guilty verdict puts Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar in a sticky situation with their children? Keep reading for the details.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar at risk of losing their children
Now, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar don’t have too many children under the age of 18 left in their household. As those who follow this family know, it is tradition for children to get married and move out shortly after turning 18. This is with the exception of Jana Duggar who is in her 30’s. Jana still lives at home with her parents because she hasn’t gotten married and Jim Bob’s rule is his children cannot leave until they get married.
While it is a lot of hypotheticals and what-ifs, the court could decide to order examinations of Jim Bob and Michelle’s children under 18. The examinations would be to make sure Josh Duggar never abused these children. If the court found signs of abuse and decided Jim Bob and Michelle knew about it and did nothing to protect their children… They could be at risk of losing their children.
Internet sleuths react
Chatter among those that have been following this case report there are clips of little Josie sitting in the lap of her big brother Josh that left them feeling uncomfortable.
Katie Joy did clarify in the comments of her Instagram post discussing this that the statute of limitations would factor into what charges can and can’t come up regarding Josh’s abuse of his siblings. Also in the comments, those following this story note it was convenient that Jim Bob waits until the statute of limitations has passed before calling attention to Josh’s crimes against his own siblings.
As we previously reported, Anna Duggar is also at risk of losing her children. Speaking to a lawyer, Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball learned Anna’s decision to decline an examination for her children could come back to haunt in.
