Jim Bob Duggar is officially in the building. The 19 Kids & Counting dad finally appeared at his son Josh Duggar’s child pornography trial. Though the trial began on Tuesday, November 30, Jim Bob is one family member who didn’t show up. Fans and critics wondered where Jim Bob and his wife Michelle have been. After all, other members of the family have been going to Josh’s trial since it began.

Jim Bob did, however, go to court to testify in an evidentiary hearing on Monday, November 29. He was asked about Josh admitting to molesting his sisters, which is being used to show a “motive” behind the content found on Josh’s devices. While Jim Bob didn’t provide much information, a family friend who Josh confessed to came through with more facts. Bobye Holt testified on Monday, December 6 when the trial resumed after the weekend.

One day last week, child porn evidence was described to those in the courtroom, and images were shown to the jury. Josh’s wife Anna may have seen a little bit of the disgusting content but reportedly was “stonefaced.” It looks like the trial has moved past viewing the explicit content, which is when Jim Bob happened to show up.

Jim Bob Duggar finally appears in court.

On Tuesday, Jim Bob and several other members of the family made their first appearances at the trial. According to The SunJim Bob, Jana, and Jason are present at the trial. Family friend Laura DeMasie showed up too.

Anna Duggar, Austin Forsyth, and Derick Dillard were all spotted and have been to most of Josh’s court sessions so far. Anna’s brother, David Keller, and his wife, Hannah Reber, were there, as well as one of Josh’s guardians, Maria Reber.

According to The Sun, “Jim Bob Duggar walked in about 20 minutes after court started. He sat next to Austin Forsyth and remained expressionless and just listened to the evidence, looking up when evidence was presented on screen.” This comes just hours after a source disclosed there is tension between Jim Bob and Austin.

Despite the severity of the content found on Josh’s devices and the nature of the trial, The Sun reports, “The Duggar family attending the trial seem to be in high spirits.”
