Christine Brown Admits She Had To “Pretend” With Kody
Even though she initially seemed very much in love, Sister Wives star Christine Brown is now admitting it was all an illusion. After twenty-seven years, she announced she was leaving her husband Kody Brown on November 2nd. She moved with her family back to Utah where she felt she truly belonged. It is all going to be documented in the current season of the reality series. As it unravels, the truth continues to come out. Us Weekly shares how Christine was hiding a lot from her family and herself.
Christine Brown-Basement Wife
When viewers first met Kody’s third wife in 2010, she was expecting her sixth child, Truely. While Janelle worked, Meri had just been let go from her job. Along with Meri, Christine helped to raise the children, mother them, and keep the home. Janelle outwardly said she preferred to be out of the home so her young children fell on the home wives. It seemed to be a good balance as they all lived in one home. At the same time, that balance was about to get disrupted.
Kody soon announced he was going to invite Robyn into the family. There seemed to be a little bit of jealousy with her being young and new. Yet, Christine was about to give birth to a new Brown baby so it was another new beginning. However, when she went into labor, Kody was out on a date, kissing Robyn. The wives were about to have a taste of freedom when they moved to Las Vegas. They raised their families the way they wanted, Meri went back to school, and they had jobs.
Moving to Flagstaff was big enough. Kody decided to further complicate it by having the plans for a single home drawn up. Christine was so adamant about not living that way again. As it turns out, she lived on the bottom but that was considered being a basement wife. It was the worst place you could be as a plural wife. She never wanted to go back to that lifestyle and was never really happy in Flagstaff. The urge to move back to Utah was real. It should be no surprise she was just going through the motions until she finally left.
The Pretending Game
Us Weekly reflected on the latest episode of Sister Wives. Season 16 has had just three episodes but has proven to be a challenge for Christine. She is eager to move back to Utah and could care less about picking a lot on the Coyote Pass land. In her interviews, she openly admits she is faking happiness in being there. She does not care about the decisions, she just wants to move back to Utah. Kody had said he would not mind moving back there but he was just trying to appease her.
She also has been admitting to struggles in their marriage. Christine does not want to watch him having a full-functioning marriage while hers is struggling to breathe. “Kody and I are struggling more than ever before. The thought of living here on the property and seeing him in full functioning marriages — do I want that? No. The best I can give today is just to pretend,” Christine told the camera. Robyn is seemingly the only one he has a decent marriage with as she wholeheartedly followed all his COVID rules.
She also added she does not trust him anymore and that they are not friends. “He’s not even my friend right now. Why would I talk to him about things that are close to my heart if he’s not even my friend? It feels like a bit of a crossroads.” It didn’t help that Kody didn’t accompany Christine and Ysabel to New Jersey for Ysabel’s scoliosis surgery.
Do you think Christine should have pretended for as long as she did or would you have left sooner? Let us know and watch Sister Wives every Sunday.

Good for Christina! Cody is a narsasistic, selfish person. He only wants Robin for his wife, and keep the others to make money for “the family”. He doesn’t appear to care that much for any of his children. I think the older they get, the more they realize that is true. As for Robin, she calls all the shots in the family because she has Cody’s ear. She uses her tears to appear sensitive to others when in fact it is her ploy to get her way.
This is what they signed up for… plural marriage. I think it’s ridiculous they all need their own lavish home. They should build one large mansion and live together as husband and wives. The relationships aren’t being nurtured. And I think Cody’s extreme COVID rules are way off base. He is driven by fear and needs to rely on God. Just be a family and stop the COVID nonsense.
