What Would Cheryl Burke Change About ‘DWTS’ Season 30?
Dancing With The Stars recently wrapped up Season 30. The show made history when it crowned Iman Shumpert as the winner — the very first NBA player to ever make it to the finals. Iman and Daniella Karagach were the underdogs from the beginning but proudly emerged as the victors. Even though it was a very exciting season, third place winner Cheryl Burke felt there was something a little lacking.
Cheryl Burke loves her time on DWTS, but really misses some of the original pros
The last time Dancing With The Stars fans saw veteran dancer Cheryl Burke compete in the finale was in Season 17. She and Jack Osbourne came in 3rd place. This year, she and Cody Rigsby came in third place together, surprising many fans.
But even after a spectacular season, Cheryl wished she could change one thing about Season 30. She really wanted more nostalgia.
“I’d like to see all the OG pros come back,” the 37-year-old told TV Insider. “There’s something nostalgic about that group.”
Alumni like Maks Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are all off doing their own projects now. But it didn’t stop Cheryl from wishing they could get the old gang back together.
“We all became a family here at the show – especially that first round of pros,” Cheryl continued. “We grew up together. People tuned in to see the camaraderie. We each had our own ‘characters’ even though we were playing ourselves. Wouldn’t it be amazing if the show opened up with our first interviews? Or our first dances? [Laughs] I should produce this!”
That’s definitely a fun idea. Do you think the producers would make note of this for Season 31? We will just have to wait until next fall to see.
Will the dancer return for another exciting season?
In the past, Cheryl Burke teased that Season 30 would be her last. However, she recently said she thinks she has one last season in her. She really bonded with Cody Rigsby this year and wants to keep that energy moving forward.
Cheryl sat down with fellow pro Witney Carson to talk about coming back for Season 31. Cheryl really wants kids, but isn’t sure that now is the right time.
“Some women have been pregnant on this show who have bounced back literally in months. That’s just not — I’m 37. I need to put everything in perspective that my body hurts already without being pregnant. Can you imagine?” Cheryl commented. “I want to know that I’m done with this space in my life and I think that waiting another year is not gonna hurt.”
Are you excited to see who Cheryl will compete with next year? Do you also wish some of the previous pros would come back? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments. We’ll fill you in with the latest DWTS news.
