‘1000-Lb. Sisters:’ Nurse Tisa Hindering Or Helping Tammy Slaton?
1000-Lb. Sisters Season 3 introduces fans to Tammy Slaton’s new nurse named Tisa. Fans learned Amy Halterman made the decision to hire a nurse help take care of her sister because she just couldn’t do it anymore. The big question both fans and her sister Amy have at this point is simple. Was hiring Nurse Tisa the right call? Is she helping Tammy Slaton or is she hindering her weight loss progress?

Why Did Amy Halterman hire a nurse?
Amy Halterman reached her breaking point with her sister Tammy Slaton during last week’s episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters. As we previously reported, Amy got a taste of freedom. She experienced what life with her family could feel like without Tammy dragging her down. Her freedom was shattered when her sister barely lasted a few weeks at rehab before making the decision to come home.
At that moment, Amy Halterman realized she just didn’t have the time or energy to take care of her sister Tammy and her son Gage. Moreover, Amy wanted to stop taking care of her sister Tammy so she could focus on her life with her son and her husband. So, Amy made the difficult decision to hire a nurse to step in and take her place.
Amy Halterman admits she left some personality details regarding her sister out of the ad. She worried if she presented the full picture of Tammy Slaton no one would apply for the job. Amy admits that she needed someone who could be friends with Tammy. But, someone who would also push back when Tammy needed it.
By the end of the episode, Amy Halterman was questioning if Nurse Tisa was the best fit. Was she helping or hurting her sister?
Is Nurse Tisa helping or hindering Tammy Slaton?
By the end of tonight’s episode, Amy Halterman seizes an opportunity to pull Nurse Tisa aside as she prepared to go home. She wanted to see how things were going with Tammy. Truth be told, Amy Halterman was worried Tammy wasn’t doing enough with Nurse Tisa. Amy Halterman expressed concern for Tisa just doing things for Tammy while Tammy sat around and did nothing.
Amy Halterman doubled down on her concerns when Nurse Tisa explained that getting Tammy to walk was difficult. So, she was just doing what she could to get Tammy to do any type of movement regardless of how big or small. Amy, however, disagreed with Nurse Tisa as she didn’t understand how Tammy moving her fingers up and down was really helping her. She argued her sister needed to be working her whole body.
