Jimmie Allen Reflects On His ‘DWTS’ Journey Post-Elimination
We said goodbye to country music superstar Jimmie Allen last Monday night on Dancing With The Stars. Many fans felt really sad to see him go — and they weren’t the only ones. The judges were really torn up about the elimination this week, especially Carrie Ann Inaba who was literally in tears.
Although DWTS fans are definitely going to miss Jimmie Allen when the semifinals air this Monday night, he is doing just fine. Read on for more.
Don’t expect to see Jimmie Allen in a ballroom competition anytime soon
It’s always a bummer when a fan favorite leaves Dancing With The Stars, but don’t cry for Jimmie Allen. Right after leaving the show, he won New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards. He’s doing well. Although he’s thankful for the DWTS experience, he’s also really thankful he doesn’t have to dance any longer.
“I’m done dancing,” Jimmie told iHeart after the elimination. “I love being in the ballroom, but I’m just glad I don’t have to dance anymore! I’m done! But I’m taking so much stuff I’ve learned from [Emma Slater], some of the little moves, and throwing them in the shelf, but my main thing [is] I just want everybody who’s still on the show to have fun.”
The singer added that he really wanted to make it to Disney Week, but didn’t expect to make it much further after that. He actually felt really surprised when he kept advancing week after week.
“I learned so much. I have such respect now for the dancer community, the art of dancing, and the passion that each one of these professionals put in week in and week out,” Jimmie continued. “You can see the passion each one puts in each week with the choreography. I’m just honored that I got a chance to meet all the pro dancers on there.”
Dancing With The Stars moves forward with an exciting semifinals episode
Emma Slater and Jimmie Allen definitely connected on the dance floor. It was really fun to see their chemistry and bond grow week after week. Fans will miss them but are also very excited about the upcoming semifinals episode.
On Monday night, we will see each of the remaining six couples perform a redemption dance. Each pair will be mentored by one of the four judges in hopes of earning a better score for a dance they did poorly on.
After that, we’ll see each couple perform a brand new dance style they haven’t learned yet. And there are quite a few contemporary numbers lined up.
Tune in to ABC at 8 PM eastern time on Monday night and see which four couples will advance to the finale and which two couples will go home.
