Netflix Original Series ‘Another Life’: Will It Be Renewed For Season 3?

Despite mixed subscriber opinion, many fans of the Netflix sci-fi series Another Life felt Season 2 was even better than Season 1. Created by Aaron Martin, the series stars Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and Selma Blair (Hellboy). Admittedly, the finale of Season 2 did, to a certain extent, give closure to fans. However, this doesn’t mean they don’t want more. In fact, that ending also gave endless possibilities for the series to continue for several seasons.

Netflix sci-fi series Another Life

Katee Sackhoff stars as astronaut Niko Breckinridge, who leads a group of astronauts into space, searching for intelligent life. The journey comes after a mysterious alien artifact appears on Earth. Meanwhile, Niko’s husband, Erik (Justin Chatwin) is tasked with investigating the artifact back at home. However, the crew of the Salvare 2 faces unparalleled danger on their mission, in what could become a one-way journey.

Other cast members of Another Life include Samuel Anderson as the ship’s AI, William. Meanwhile, A.J. Rivera plays Bernie Martinez and JayR Tinaco plays Zayn Petrossian. The role of Cas Isakovic is played by Elizabeth Faith Ludlow, while Helen King is the voice of the Salvare 2. Another member of the crew is Javier Almanzar, played by Alexander Eling.

Will the series be renewed for Season 3?

Season 2 of Another Life has been available on Netflix for just under one month. However, as of November 11, 2011, the official Netflix Renewal status is “pending.” The streamer has yet to make a decision on the future of the series, although Katee Sackhoff has been urging fans to watch. When Season 2 dropped, she tweeted: “Who’s watching Season 2 of Another Life on @netflix. Make sure to binge watch it so we can get a season 3.”

While the third season is still pending, it will likely take a while before the renewal of the series is announced.

What could we expect from Season 3 of Another Life?

As mentioned earlier, the finale of Season 2 of Another Life on Netflix does give closure to fans. However, it also offers a full range of new possibilities for future seasons. At the end of that season, Earth was on the brink of annihilation by the Achaians.

However, the crew of Salvare 2 discovered a weakness in the armor of the alien race. It was discovered that the Achaians are, in fact, a highly advanced alien A.I. They are not the original race from their planet. Due to this, the crew was able to successfully defeat them by planting a human DNA-based computer virus.

As the Achaians’ vessels crumbled and they left the solar system, many wormholes opened. These lead to a number of other alien races throughout the universe, who want to show their appreciation to Earth. They are more than grateful to Earth for destroying their Archaian oppressors and ready to greet the human race for the first time.

This opens up a myriad of new worlds for humankind to explore, which makes an opening for a number of possible new seasons. We’ll just have to wait and see what Netflix decides to do.

Right now, it is impossible to say when the third season of Another Life could drop, but it is likely to only happen in 2023.
