‘SW’ Fans Believe Janelle Brown Is Nothing More Than Kody’s Pet
Sister Wives fans got into a heated discussion regarding what role Janelle Brown plays in Kody’s life. The discussion came up on Reddit and some Sister Wives fans admit they see Janelle as nothing more than a pet to Kody. Other fans, however, admit they think Janelle has always felt like more of an “insurance policy” for Kody Brown.
Is Janelle Brown an insurance policy for Kody?
One Sister Wives fan took to Reddit to ask if anyone else thought Janelle Brown was an “insurance policy wife.” This fan goes on to note that they agree with everyone else that Kody Brown isn’t really interested in the polygamous lifestyle anymore. Most fans believe Kody simply wants to be married and live his life with Robyn Brown. But, what happens if Robyn Brown were to pass away? How would Kody take care of himself? How would he take care of his children that are still underage?
The fan suggests that Janelle Brown might simply be an insurance policy he has to fall back on if something ever were to happen to his main squeeze Robyn.
While Janelle has never seemed to be Kody’s favorite, she would make an excellent companion for him in old age. They enjoy their ‘intellectual’ conversations together, she requires very little to be happy, and entertains herself gardening, baking and hiking. Why would he kick her to the curb when she seems content to accept that position?
Sister Wives fans liken her to that of a pet dog
Other fans chimed in to agree that Janelle was a great fit for Kody. She really did feel like his best friend. Here’s some of what fans had to say about Kody and Janelle’s relationship:
- “Because Janelle is his best friend and his cheerleader, she is always on his side in pretty much every family discussion, isn’t emotional at all and demands literally nothing from him. She is great to have around. She gives him no trouble and always agrees with every crazy thing he wants.”
- “I’ve kind of assumed the same. She’s just so generally passive that she doesn’t put up a fight or anything like the other wives do, so why not keep her around so he still has the polygamy title?”
Another fan chimed in to point out that — out of context — it sounded like they were describing Kody’s pet dog. Several other fans liked the comparison of Janelle to a pet dog.
Some fans argue Janelle Brown is really in charge
Other fans chimed in to point out that while Kody Brown seems to be living most of his life happy with Robyn, they do not believe Robyn makes any of the decisions. In fact, they suspect most of the big decisions made for this family happen only after Janelle gives her input.
One fan noted: “I agree with this. I think he makes or at least runs every major decision through the Janelle filter for final validation. He might work out the details with Robyn but Janelle is definitely a trusted advisor. Or at least was.”
Fans seem to be all over the place with their feelings on Janelle Brown’s role with Kody. They, however, do agree that she doesn’t appear to be in a romantic wife position with him. She’s more of a best friend and a trusted advisor. But, they do also see her as a solid backup plan if something happens to Robyn.
