Users tuning in to the popular streaming service this week may be wondering why Victorious Season 3 isn’t on Netflix anymore. The Nickelodeon show starring Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, Leon Thomas III, and Matt Bennett ran for four seasons from March 2010 until February 2013, with the final two combined into a single one. Although the first two seasons are still available on Netflix, Season 3 was removed as of Monday, November 1. So what’s going on? Keep reading to find out.

Picked Up By Netflix In 2019

Created by Dan Schneider (iCarly, Zoey 101, Henry Danger, Drake & Josh), Victorious was picked up by Netflix exactly two years ago. At the time, the streaming service acquired several Nickelodeon licenses, including the Victorious spin-off series, Sam & Cat. All three seasons arrived in the U.S. on November 2, 2019.

The popular sitcom boasts two Emmy nominations. It’s also won Favorite TV Show twice, at the 2012 and 2013 Kids’ Choice Awards, beating out iCarly.

Why Isn’t Victorious Season 3 On Netflix Anymore?

While there’s no official statement on why Victorious Season 3 is no longer on Netflix, it all may be part of ViacomCBS’s strategy. In recent years, the company has licensed shows partially on numerous occasions. By doing so, ViacomCBS stands to gain quite a bit, since pulling shows from Netflix helps promote its own platform.

Users have seen this recently with series such as iCarly, Evil, and The Unicorn.

According to What’s on Netflix, the idea is that users wanting to catch up with the removed seasons or shows would feel encouraged to subscribe to ViacomCBS’ own streaming platform. In the case of Victorious, Paramount+ is currently streaming all three seasons of the sitcom. As such, anyone who has their heart set on watching Season 3 can sign up to Paramount+.

Victorious International Availability On Netflix

Although U.S. users have to contend with missing Season 3 of Victorious as of this week, fans of the show elsewhere have it worse. Despite being available in 22 countries, Canada and the U.K. are the only Netflix regions licensed for all three seasons. The U.S. is alone in carrying two seasons, per Unogs. Meanwhile, many countries in Europe, Latin America, and Asia only carry Season 1 consisting of 20 episodes.

Judging by these licensing disparities, it seems ViacomCBS has a different approach for different regions. As it stands, Netflix might even be better off simply not carrying the show at all, argues What’s on Netflix. That would eliminate the “fragmented availability” issue altogether.

Given the possible reason why Victorious Season 3 is no longer on Netflix, users are facing a choice. They can either stick to Netflix and watch just Season 1 and Season 2, or they can sign up to Paramout+.

  1. Hønestly I find this absurd because nøt everyøne can afførd a Paramøunt+ subscriptiøn. I just wish Netflix støpped remøving seasøns ør series øff øf their streaming platførm.
