Ben Higgins Spills Wedding Secrets
Bachelor alum Ben Higgins spills wedding secrets ahead of his big day with Jessica Clarke. Which Bachelor Nation alums are attending, and which are skipping the event? Keep reading for all the details.
Ben Higgins to FINALLY marry fiance after delays
Ben Higgins first appeared on the Bachelorette in 2015, looking for love with Kaitlyn Bristowe. Despite their connection, she sent him home after their date in the fantasy suite. He went on to star in Season 20 of The Bachelor.
There he got engaged to Lauren Bushnell and the two starred in their own spin-off, Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?
SPOILER: It wasn’t happily ever after for the duo. They split in 2017.
However, now Ben Higgins has found love outside of Bachelor Nation. He started dating Jessica Clarke in 2018. In 2020, he proposed to Clarke and they purchased a home together in Colorado.
However, the coronavirus delayed their wedding plans. The two will finally tie the knot in Tennessee on Saturday, November 13, 2021. But fans won’t have to wait until then for details of the wedding. Ben Higgins shared a few tidbits a week before the nuptials.
Is Kaitlyn Bristowe skipping the event to avoid running into her exes?
After sending Ben Higgins home, Kaitlyn Bristowe got engaged to Shawn Booth. However, that relationship ended in 2018. She’s now engaged to Bachelor Nation alum Jason Tartick after meeting during an episode of her Off The Vine podcast.
Speaking to Us Weekly ahead of his wedding, Ben Higgins revealed if Kaitlyn is attending. According to Higgins, his ex and her fiance are unable to attend because she’s currently touring for her podcast.
However, he couldn’t resist making a joke that she’s avoiding her exes. “There’s a lot of people that, you know, Jared [Haibon], myself, Shawn, so she would have had, like, a reunion.”
In fact, all of Kaitlyn’s final four from Season 11 of The Bachelorette will attend Ben’s wedding: himself, Shawn Booth, Jared Haibon, and Nick Viall.
Ben Higgins spills more wedding secrets
While any awkwardness with Bristowe will be avoided, Bachelor Nation alums will be out in full force. In fact, while speaking to Us Weekly, Higgins couldn’t even remember them all. Some of the names he did mention include Ashley Iaconetti, Becca Kufrin (and boyfriend Thomas Jacobs,) Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes. Additionally, Chase McNary, Blake Horstmann and Becca Tilley nabbed invites.
Furthermore, Ben Higgins reveals that the “traditional ceremony” will feature three officiants who will take turns presiding over the nuptials. In addition to his own pastor, Clarke’s pastor, and his parents’ pastor will lead the ceremony.
What about former Bachelor host Chris Harrison? Harrison just recently got engaged to Entertainment Tonight host Lauren Zima. Despite being “good friends” with the couple, Chris Harrison and his fiance won’t be attending Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke’s wedding.
Which Bachelor Nation alum will serve as an usher in wedding?
Despite Bachelor Nation alums making up a huge part of the guest list, only one has a role in the wedding. Ben Higgins picked Wells Adams to serve as an usher in the wedding.
He’s the only Bachelor alum serving as an usher. “I love Wells. We became really good friends over the years,” Higgins explained.
