Some fans have been calling out Bravo – and Cohen – for filming in the United Arab Emirates city due to its harsh penalties against the LGBTQ+ community.
Is Lindsay Lohan joining RHODubai?
However, not all viewers are against the spin-off. In fact, excitement has led to some pretty wild casting rumors. One such rumor is that Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan could join the cast. After all, as Us Weekly points out, Lohan has been living in Dubai since 2014.
Andy Cohen was a guest on The Talk a few days after his announcement. Co-host of the CBS talk show, and huge Bravo fan, Jerry O’Connell brought up the rumor. “Lindsay Lohan lives in Dubai — a Real Housewife potential, maybe Andy?,” he asked Cohen.
Without giving anything away, Andy Cohen said, “It’s a good idea, Jerry.” However, an official cast release is yet to come.
The outlet notes that fans have another theory about who will join the RHODubai cast. Caroline Stanbury from Ladies of London is one name being associated with the Bravo spin-off. In fact, former Million Dollar Matchmaker Patti Stanger sent Stanbury congratulations on her new gig. “So happy for you,” she wrote on Instagram.
More details released about her upcoming Netflix rom-com
While news of Lindsay Lohan joining the Bravo franchise is just rumors at this point, we do know something about her acting career. Earlier this year, Netflix released the surprising news that Lohan would star in a rom-com for the streaming giant.
Now Variety reports that Glee alum Chord Overstreet has been cast as her leading man in the movie. The outlet also notes that unnamed flick also stars George Young (Malignant), Jack Wagner (General Hospital) and Olivia Perez (In the Heights).
Lindsay Lohan guest-starred as herself on Glee in 2012.
