Josh Duggar Arrest: Government Seeks Forfeiture Of Property
A recent update about Josh Duggar’s arrest shows that the government is requesting that he forfeits his property. The former 19 Kids & Counting star was arrested in the spring and is now awaiting his trial. Read on to get a full update on Josh’s case and the government’s latest request.
What We Know About Josh Duggar’s Arrest
For those who don’t know, the former TLC star was arrested in April for receiving and possessing child pornography. He has pleaded not guilty and declined multiple plea deals. His trial is on November 30, and at that point, the truth will hopefully be brought to light. If convicted, he is facing decades behind bars and would have fines to pay as well.
Currently, he’s staying with legal guardians approved by the court. The Rebers, who are friends of the Duggars offered to let Josh stay with them until his trial. He has also been given a set of conditions to follow, which includes not having access to the internet and not being around minors.
He can, however, see his own children with his wife, Anna’s supervision. Josh and Anna currently have six children, ranging in age from almost two years to 12 years. Just before his arrest, the couple announced that their seventh child, a girl, is due in the “fall.” Because Anna has gone silent on social media, it’s unclear whether she has given birth yet. A source revealed that they saw Anna in public and that she no longer looks pregnant, but that’s unconfirmed. Jim Bob Duggar, Josh’s father, might have leaked the baby’s birth news, as well.
Government Wants 19 Kids & Counting Star To Hand Over Property
In court papers obtained by The Sun, the government filed a “notice of its intention to seek the forfeiture of the following property: HP Desktop All-In-One.” This is one of several of Josh’s devices seized by the government during the investigation. This notice means that the government would like to keep the device in its possession.
The desktop computer wasn’t the only device seized. According to court papers, they took an Apple iPhone, MacBook Pro, Digital Video Recorder Drive, 8GB thumb drive, 16 GB SD Card, an 8GB Micro SD Card, and a 4 GB Thumb Drive as well.
