‘Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues’: Mariah Carey Back On AppleTV+
Mariah Carey is back with a second Apple TV+ special. Moreover, she has a new Christmas song with Khalid and Kirk Franklin coming out.
Here are all the details.
AppleTV+ Presents Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues
On Monday, Mariah Carey made it clear that she is over the Halloween season. At the stroke of midnight, she released an Instagram video of her glittery, red high heels, and in a long, red, glittery gown. She is headed to the outside of her home. The songstress is holding a baseball bat that is decked out in bold red and white candy cane stripes.
Sitting on her front deck was three pumpkins. One has “it’s” carved out. The next one has “not” carved. The third says “time.” Grinning, she then proceeds to smash those pumpkins. Mixed in is a video montage of Carey in a red Santa suit, with festive white trim. She looks holly and jolly.
Her caption? “Ready? Let’s go! 🎃➡️🎄.”
Then on Tuesday, she went to Instagram and posted a clapperboard that has written, “More Magic: MC K KF.” She wrote, “The Magic Continues… @appletvplus.”
According to Deadline, we know what those initials mean. The “MC” is for Mariah Carey, the “K” is for Khalid, and the “KF2 is for Kirk Franklin. This is Mariah Carey’s second Christmas special for the second year in a row. Anyone who wants to see last year’s Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, can watch it now on AppleTV+. Both Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande were guests on that special.
However, what should fans expect in the upcoming special?
Mariah Carey’s New Song With Khalid, Kirk Franklin
Are you ready for a new Mariah Carey Christmas song? Her brand new single, “Fall In Love At Christmas” will be released on Friday, November 5. According to NME, this is a “romantic R&B-tinged ballad. She sings it along with Khalid, in a chorus led by US choir director and gospel singer Kirk Franklin.
Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas’ Now 27 Years Old
It is hard to believe that there ever was a Christmas without Mariah Carey’s classic Christmas song, “All I Want For Christmas.” Two years ago, during the 25th year anniversary, the multiple-award-winning singer shared to USA Today that in 1993, her team suggested a Christmas album. Usually, artists create Christmas albums in the twilight of their careers, so Carey was not immediately interested.
However, once she sat down and started writing, in her home that she shared with her then-husband, Tommy Mottola, she sat down and started to work. “I really started with thinking, ‘What are all the things I think about at Christmas?’ Lights, presents, stockings, fireplaces.”
“I’ve always loved Christmas so much my entire life, but I grew up not having a lot of money and not being able to experience it like the other kids did. I wanted Christmas to be perfect, but for a lot of different reasons, it didn’t always end up working out well, coming from such a dysfunctional family.”
She continued, “So I think when I wrote it, I just put every ounce of longing for that perfect moment in it.”
Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues will drop on AppleTV+ sometime in December.
