This morning, Bravo confirmed that The Real Housewives of Dubai is the latest spin-off. Though it was assumed for weeks, it’s still a historical decision in the making. It’s the first time that an international Real Housewives show will air on Bravo. It didn’t take long for fans to share their thoughts on the news.

Some have a feeling that this will be a bad idea. Yes, Dubai is a rich and luxurious city, which is the perfect setting for the new spin-off series. However, it’s also known for its controversial political leanings. Some wonder how this show is going to work.

Bravo confirms Real Housewives of Dubai spinoff

On Monday, November 1, Bravo kicked off the start of the week and the month with this not-so-shocking announcement. Andy Cohen took to Twitter to confirm the news of #RHODubai. The network is looking to expand the franchise outside of the U.S. borders. Bravo even teased the new series with an intriguing clip.

Dubai is known for its modern architecture and luxurious lifestyle. The city was featured on Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when the cast went on a girls’ trip. Bravo decided to make the city the first international franchise. The network has been longing to go international for a while now.

So, why not make the richest city in the world one of the first? The Real Housewives of Dubai will premiere sometime in 2022. The cast has not been announced. At this time, no other details are known about the show. It’ll be interesting to see how this new show will turn out.

Not all Real Housewives spin-offs do well. The Real Housewives of Dallas was canceled after five seasons, while The Real Housewives of Miami got the boot after four. In the meantime, RHONY may not get a second life after Season 13. #RHODubai may meet the same faith if fans don’t warm up to the idea.

Fans share their thoughts on the new spin-off series

Queen of Bravo also shared the news with fans on Monday morning. Some of them took to the tweet to share their thoughts on the new series. Most fans are concerned since the United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country. That means it still has old-fashioned ideals.

“NOPE,” one fan wrote while including a link to an opinion piece that talks about the rampant sexual assault issues. “So a Housewives in which they aren’t allowed to drink and dress sexy?” a second user added. One simply responded with the eye-roll emoji.

Another wondered why they couldn’t have another “Black Housewives cast.” In the hashtags for the new show, some wonder how the reunion specials will work out. In Dubai, it’s considered illegal to be an LGBTQ person. Would Andy host the reunion episodes in Dubai, or fly the cast out to New York?

Bravo may get a rude awakening when filming starts in Dubai. What are your thoughts on this new spin-off? Are you excited to see new wealth? Sound off below in the comments.
