‘Pretty Smart’: Will There Be A Season 2 And More
Earlier this month (October) Netflix dropped a new sitcom called Pretty Smart. Now, fans are wondering if there will be a Season 2. Keep reading for more details about Pretty Smart.
What Is The Show About
Pretty Smart is a Netflix Original comedy sitcom from creators Jack Dolgen and Doug Mand. Fans of Young & Hungry may be happy to see Emily Osmet return to the streaming service. According to What’s on Netflix (WoN), the series is about “a book smart girl named Chelsea.” Apparently, “she discovers she has a lot to learn about happiness when she’s forced to move in with her bubbly sister and three roommates.”
Here’s a brief description of the characters from the series:
- Chelsea: Recently dumped, Havard-educated.
- Claire: Chelsea’s sister, West Coast, “not-so-intellectual”
- Grant: handsome, personal trainer
- Solana: a lawyer turned healer
- Jayden: social media influencer
Season 1 of Pretty Smart creates a love triangle. As the series ends, Chelsea is about to walk in on her sister, Claire kissing her crush, Grant. In a complicating twist, Grant is Claire’s ex.

Pretty Smart: Will There Be A Season 2
Unfortunately, Netflix is known to struggle to have success with sitcoms. Also, Netflix formats its sitcoms differently than traditional sitcoms. For example, a traditional sitcom would have somewhere around 22 episodes in a season. When it comes to the streaming platform, they typically have 10 episodes that last for half an hour.
From the sounds of WoN’s report, it might be too soon to tell if there will be a Pretty Smart Season 2. If there is a second season, Season 1 primed the storyline for an ongoing love triangle between Chelsea, Claire, and Grant.
Some signs have Season 2 speculations leaning more towards yes than no. For example, the series was able to hit Netflix US top ten list. WoN reports “the show’s time spent in the top ten was all three days, and its highest rand was eighth place.” Also, outside of the US market, the series ranked in the top ten of eleven countries.
Gregg Sulkin (Grant) takes to his Twitter to share great news about Pretty Smart. After being available to stream for a few days, the show was trending in 40 different countries.

At the time of this writing, there is no official word on whether or not there will be a second season of Pretty Smart.

I would absolutely love to see more season’s of “PRETTY SMART”. I did not think I would like it but, I watched the first episode and found myself finishing it. Really hope to see more!
