Is Jana Duggar Staying Single To Save Herself From An Awkward Courtship?
Jana Duggar remains single, even at the age of 31. While this isn’t an uncommon age to be single by society’s standards, it’s definitely not common in the Duggar family. Many of the Counting On kids have gotten married at a young age. Some of them have even been in their teens when they tied the knot. This raises questions about Jana and her future.
Fans are hopeful that Jana will fall in love, get married, and get to live her life how she wants to. However, that hasn’t happened yet. Over the years, she’s been linked to many different guys, and rumors have even circulated that she’s interested in her best friend Laura DeMasie. At this point, it doesn’t look like Jana is actively courting anyone. She was previously thought to be courting a man named Stephen Wissmann from Nebraska. But all of the possible evidence for that courtship has disappeared.
Because Jana has been single so long, fans have been tossing around possible explanations for her singleness. Recently, Duggar Snarks wondered if Jana might be waiting to get married so she doesn’t have to become a mother. If she gets married late enough in life, she might not be able to have children. After all, she has been caring for her siblings, nieces, and nephews for decades. So, maybe motherhood isn’t something she’s after.
Now, another theory behind Jana staying single has popped up. Why else might she be enjoying being single?
New Theory For Jana Duggar’s Singleness Surfaces
On Reddit, Duggar Snarks are discussing the possibility that Jana doesn’t want to court because it could be “awkward” or “embarrassing.” Counting On viewers can recall many cringe-worthy moments in the other kids’ courtships, including one moment between Ben and Jessa Seewald.
One Reddit user writes, “Jana looks really shy and embarrassed easily compared to her sisters, and doesn’t like making a spectacle of herself. I don’t know if jana is still courting that guy, but of she is, I’m sure its because Counting On is off air.”
They continue, “Thats another thing too, she probably waited too long and created suspense now it’s going to be a really big deal when she finally does and even more attention her way. I really sympathize with her. I have a feeling she was never comfortable with TLC documenting her life.”
Someone else chimes in, “I always kind of thought she would wait for the show to end so she wouldn’t have to endure the awkwardness on tv.”
Another Duggar Snark says, “I think teenage awkwardness would definitely wear off but I think she’s probably just a shy person too. So maybe it isn’t as awkward anymore as it is just embarrassing for her as someone who is just shy.”
