Josh Duggar Scandal: Who Could Help Pay Up To $500,000 In Fines If He’s Guilty?

TLC, Josh Duggar

Former TLC star Josh Duggar is facing jail time and fines if he’s found guilty in his child pornography scandal. He was arrested in April and will go to trial in November. He claims he’s innocent, but the truth will come out next month. Along with potentially serving time in jail, Josh may have to pay some hefty fines.

How Much Jail Time is the 19 Kids & Counting Star Facing?

As we reported, Josh is being charged with both the receipt and possession of child sexual abuse material. Because there are two charges, he may have to pay two fines and serve two sentences.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Arkansas, Josh may serve 20 years of jail time and up to $250,000 in fines per charge. So, in total, he could spend 40 years behind bars. This would also mean he may have to pay $500,000 in fines.

Duggar Snarks Speculate Who Could Pay Josh’s Fines

On Reddit, Duggar Snarks are discussing the hefty fine Josh may end up paying. While it would be Josh’s responsibility to cover these fines, some Reddit users wonder if someone else will help him pay them. After paying legal fees, it’s possible that Josh won’t have half a million dollars available to spend on these fines.

Some users are convinced that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will continue supporting their son. Sources have said that Jim Bob and Michelle are standing by his side. Jim Bob reportedly believes this scandal will be swept under the rug. If Josh is found to be guilty and his parents still support him, it’s possible they will help cover these fines. One user writes, “The family has that in cash. Guaranteed.”

We won’t know for sure whether Josh is guilty until his trial in November. At that point, if he is found to be guilty and has to fork over some cash, we may not find out who actually paid for it. As we previously reported, Jim Bob’s is worth an estimated $3.5 million. Josh and Anna are worth an estimated $200,000. So, Josh and Anna may not be able to afford $500,000 in fines.
