Could The Duggars Get A New Show After ‘Counting On’ Cancelation?
Duggar family fans were sad to see that their show, Counting On, was canceled after Josh’s arrest in April. This is the second time that TLC has canceled one of the family’s shows. Their previous series, 19 Kids & Counting, also used to air on the network.
For those who don’t know, Josh, Jim Bob and Michelle’s eldest child was arrested for the receipt and possession of child pornography. After that, TLC revealed that they would be canceling the family’s show. They released a statement, reading, “TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately.”
Since then, fans have been hoping that another network will pick up the family’s story. However, this hasn’t happened yet. Fans are worried that the family will not get another show, and then fans won’t have a way to keep up with them.
Could UPtv pick up where TLC left off?
Some fans of the Duggar family also like the Bates family. For those who don’t know, Gil and Kelly Jo Bates also have 19 children and are similar to the Duggars. The Bates’ show, Bringing Up Bates is on UPtv. UPtv focuses on uplifting content. The programs on the channel are family-friendly and religious. While the Duggar family claimed to be Christians and their show offered family-friendly entertainment, Josh’s scandals don’t have the same message. So, that may ruin the family’s chances of moving over to UPtv.
Might the Duggar family have another show?
It’s possible that a network could choose to pick up the Duggar family and create a new series. However, it may be difficult to find a network willing to do so. While the Duggars are well-loved and very popular, they have recently gotten a ton of negative attention over Josh’s alleged crimes. If it was so bad that TLC decided to cancel Counting On, another network may not be eager to sign a deal with the family.
So, fans will have to wait and see what happens. It’s possible that the outcome of Josh’s November 30 trial will play a role in determining whether the family gets a new show. With the show’s cancelation, several members of the family have found new ways to make money. Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard have successful YouTube channels. Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo wrote a book. Abbie Duggar is selling secondhand clothing. So, they may not be interested in starting a new show.
So, do you think the Duggar family should get a chance at another TV show? Or do you think Josh Duggar has ruined the family’s reputation too badly at this point? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

The Duggar’s should definitely get a new show. You can only give your children the tools on how to live but you have no control over what they do with them when they grown up. The family is not responsible for their son’s behaviour and what he does should not be held against them.
Yes I think they should get another chance with a new show and new seasons with everyone as soon as possible.
The family should certainly have a new show! So many of us have watched these kiddos grow up and it is interesting to see where their roads take them. There are so many shows that contain awful language and content and this is a clean wholesome show good for the whole family.
I think a new show without Josh would be wonderful. Fans want to know how the rest of the family is. It’s not his siblings fault that their brother did bad things— if he is proven guilty.
But whether he did it or not, his sisters and brothers should not be punished and ostracized for something a relative did that they had nothing to do with.
We have watched Jessa, Jill, Jinger, John, Joy, and all of the other kids grow up. It’s sad to not allow us to keep up with them when they have not done anything wrong themselves. If we refused to be friends with anyone who had a bad relative, there wouldn’t be very many perfect families left for us to choose from.
Here’s the thing they left out: The daddy to all them kids, Jimbob or Jimbo or whatever COVERED UP JOSH SEXUAL TOUCHING/MOLESTING WITH THE HELP OF A FAMILY FRIEND, AN ARKANSAS POLICE OFFICER….THE DADDY COVERED UP JOSH’S MULTIPLE CRIMES AS A MINOR ALREADY AND SENT HIM TO PRAYER CAMP TO PRAY IT AWAY, WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE POLICE OFFICER. THE POLICE OFFICER, SEVERAL YEARS LATER, WAS SENTENCED TO 50+ YEARS AT HARD LABOR FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. SEE A PATTERN DEVELOPING HERE?
And who’s to say Josh himself wasn’t molested and repeating the cycle, which happens all too often. And why didn’t anyone notice the 2 or 3 sisters acting differently at all, as they claimed they did after the incidents started (and continued) to happen? Well, I’ll answer: KINDA HARD TO WITH 19 OR 20 KIDS. They are selfish ass parents. They fulfilled THEIR desires by having tons of kids. Two parents CAN NOT PROVIDE ALL THE EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF 19 KIDS ALL AT ONCE UNDER A ROOF. They are basically running a group home. Maybe they have good structure, morals, beliefs, and any actions they have control over, but you can’t monitor 19 or 20 kids properly as a parent.
Screw them. Earth already has a population problem. It can only hold a finite amount of people. All those kids are an ego thing, not a God thing. They claim God wants them to multiply, and if he existed, maybe he did, but he’s probably referring to the time when the population of earth was no more than a few dozen million, AT MOST, 2,000 years ago, according to pretty irrefutable archaelogical-sociological-anthropological DNA evidence.
