Melanie Chisholm, better known as Mel C or Sporty Spice, is no stranger to performing. She and the rest of the Spice Girls dazzled audience members for years. But ballroom dancing is an entirely different beast.

The singer puts up a cool front, but she actually admits she can get a little nervous on the dance floor.

Mel C is struggling with some insecurities behind the scenes

Viewers don’t get to see everything that happens in the rehearsal room. Although many contestants are doing exceptionally well, it’s important to remember that they too are human and get hangups just like the rest of us.

Mel C candidly spoke about her own insecurities ahead of the first Disney Night episode.

“I get tense,” she recently told Parade in an interview. “That’s one of the biggest things that Gleb [Savchenko] and I try to work on is for me to relax. I’m capable of a lot as a dancer, but I just get myself all stressed out. So, I completely take that on board. I will continue to try to chill out a little bit.”

Mel C is only 47-year-old, so she’s still young by many standards. However, the singer admits she feels her age sometimes — especially when she performs.

“I trained as a dancer until I was 19,” she went on to say in the interview. “Obviously, I was young, I was fit, I was very ambitious, I was very courageous, and I am now 47 and I have had some quite serious injuries in my life. I had a child. I don’t have the confidence in my body that I did in my 20s and sometimes I think that holds me back.”

But even so, Mel C and Gleb are doing their best to bring the action. Some fans feel the judges can be too harsh with them, but they continue to score well.

What can we expect to see from Disney Week from these amazing two dancers?

In case you didn’t know, we’re going to see two Dancing With The Stars episodes this week. Tonight, we’ll see contestants perform fun “hero” themed Disney routines. And tomorrow you can get excited about Villains Night.

So what will Mel C and Gleb perform for us this week?

Tonight, you can see the pair perform a fun jazz number to “Step in Time” from Mary Poppins.

“I’m going really old school now,” Mel C told Parade. “Mary Poppins is a classic, and I think for me, obviously, it’s set in England in London and that could be really fun. We could have some fun with my being the Brit in the cast this year.”

And what about Villains Night? We’ll get to see Mel C and Gleb perform the Viennese Waltz to “Once Upon a Dream” from Maleficent.

If you recall, Gleb and his partner from last season, Chrishell Stause, performed a Maleficent-themed last year too. Let’s see if he and Mel C can top that.

Don’t forget to tune into the new episode tonight at 8 PM! And check back tomorrow night for Villains Night at the same time in the same place. We can’t wait to hear what you think about Disney Week!
