‘CSI: Vegas’: What To Expect, Release Date

CSI: Vegas joins the CSI franchise this fall. Keep reading to find out more.

What is CSI: Vegas

The CSI franchise is a television series created by Anthony E. Zuiker. The first three shows in the franchise- CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, and CSI: New York follow a group of forensic scientists in their respective jurisdictions. The fourth installment of the franchise, CSI: Cyber has more of an emphasis on behavioral psychology and cyber forensics.

Now, it looks like the franchise is doing a revival with CSI: Vegas. The trailer was released on March 31. Luckily for CSI fans, it looks like some original members of CSI: Crime Scene Investigations are returning for the revival.

Who is the cast

Meaww reports that the CSI franchise is returning to Las Vegas. So, fans will see old characters and new characters in CSI: Vegas. The plot of the new series begins with a massive threat. The threat comes from the fact that thousands of convicted killers are back on Vegas streets. So, it is up to Maxine Roby and her team to face this problem. However, they won’t be alone, Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle join forces with the new team.

William Petersen will reprise his role as Gil Grissom. Aside from CSI, fans may also recognize him from the following films.

• Young Guns II
• Fear
• The Contender
• Detachment
• Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

Jorja-An Fox will return to Las Vegas in her role as Sara Sidle. Fox has had noted success in the realm of television dramas. Fans may remember her as Dr. Maggie Doyle in ER. After that, she was Secret Service Agent Gina Toscano in The West Wing. Then, Fox found her way to televisions screens all over as Sara Sidle in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. 

There are three new faces coming to the set of CSI: Vegas. They are Matt Lauria, Mel Rodriguez, and Mandeep Dhillon.

Fans may recognize Lauria from 30 Rock, Lipstick Jungle, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, or Kingdom. Mel Rodriguez may be a familiar face from the following movies The Last Thing He Wanted and Overboard. On CSI: Vegas Rodriguez’s character is Hugo Ramirez. Mandeep Dhillon is a British actress that has been in the BBC series Some Girls and Fried. Dhillon was also on the Netflix Original dark-comedy ‘After Life.’ Her character new character is Allie Rajan.

Release date

CSI: Vegas will premiere on CBS Wednesday, October 6th. Viewers can also stream the new series on CBS and Paramount Plus.
