Jill Duggar And Derick Dillard Reveal Fascinating Family History
Former Counting On stars Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are learning more about their family’s past. In a new YouTube video, they revealed some fascinating information they discovered. So, why are Jill and Derick exploring right now, and what have they discovered?

On YouTube, Jill and Derick are slowly uploading the videos they took while road-tripping along the Oregon Trail. They previously shared a few photos on social media, but now they’re sharing more information about their fun trip. The family lives in Arkansas, so that’s where they began their journey.
Jill and Derick were joined by their two young sons, Israel and Samuel. So far, Jill and Derick have uploaded two of the ten videos they plan to share from their trip.
Derick reveals new information about his birth family.
In the second installment of their Oregon Trail videos, Jill, Derick, and their sons head from Greeley, Colorado to Boise, Idaho. While in Greeley, they explore and learn more about Derick’s birth family. For those who don’t know, Derick’s mom, Cathy Dillard, was adopted at birth. So, the area the Dillards are exploring is where her birth mother previously lived.
First, they found Cathy’s birth mother’s gravesite. It took the family a little while to find it, and Derick eventually had to dig up some of the overgrown grass to find her headstone. They also found one of her sibling’s headstones in the same area.
Then, they went to visit two of her previous homes. But they were unable to go inside, so they just looked at them from outdoors. While they were exploring, they FaceTimed Cathy to show her some of the important pieces of her family’s history.
About the video, Jill wrote, “This video captures day 2 of our trip from Greeley, Colorado to Boise, ID. Day 2 ended up being a longer day than we expected because we left Greeley, CO, we stopped in town to try and find Derick’s biological grandmother’s grave! (His mom was adopted.) It proved to be more challenging than we anticipated, but the excitement wasn’t over yet! We found addresses for a couple houses that belonged to her family too!”
