WWE Interactive Special ‘Escape The Undertaker’: Netflix Release Date
The Undertaker is finally getting his very own movie. Netflix revealed that Escape the Undertaker, a WWE interactive special will soon be available to stream. The new title is a Netflix Original. The special has a horror theme, and it’s heading to Netflix shortly before Halloween.
The Undertaker (Mark Calaway) has acted in other films in the past, including the WWE’s animated films, which were released from 2015 to 2017. Calaway made an appearance alongside Hulk Hogan in Suburban Commando (1991).
Escape the Undertaker synopsis
Netflix’s synopsis for the new movie reads:
“In this interactive film featuring WWE Superstars, The Undertaker has set a trap for the decorated tag team The New Day at his mansion. What they don’t know: The Undertaker’s mansion is an extreme Haunted House, packed to the brim with supernatural challenges. It’s up to viewers to decide the fate of these three poor souls trying to survive the wrath of The Undertaker.”
In addition to featuring the Undertaker, the new movie will star The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods).
In response to the announcement about Escape the Undertaker, WWE fans have mixed feelings. On social media, they are sharing their thoughts. Some think that the WWE shouldn’t be making movies, while others are excited about the upcoming release.

Netflix’s other collaborations with the WWE
This isn’t the first time that the streaming giant has worked closely with the WWE. In 2020, the two released a children’s Netflix Original film, The Main Event, which starred many famous wrestlers including Keith Lee, Kingston, Sheamus, The Miz, and Commander Azeez.
More collaborations between the WWE and Netflix may be coming in the near future, based on their decision to work together twice already. So, stay tuned for more updates from the two companies.
Separate from Netflix, the WWE is also working on a docuseries featuring the story of Vince McMahon.
When is Escape the Undertaker available to stream?
You can begin streaming the new movie on Tuesday, October 5. It’s available to stream at no additional cost to all Netflix subscribers. You can take a peek at what’s to come in this video.
