‘Shaman King’: Season 2 Netflix Release Date, What To Expect
Shaman King is an anime series based on the Japanese manga series of the same name. The story follows Yoh Asakura while he tries to strengthen his shaman skills. This is crucial to his success because Yoh is trying to become the Shaman King by winning the Shaman Fight.
Interestingly, the series first premiered twenty years ago. In the first year, there were 64 episodes aired. Then, the episodes were placed on DVD. It isn’t until 2004/2005 that Funimation releases five DVD compilations of the English adaptation. Now, there is a 2021 reboot. Luckily, it features returning casts members.
What is Shaman King?
According to Netflix’s description of Shaman King, Yoh Asakura is a medium. Not only that, but the tournament he needs to compete in, the Shaman Fight, only happens every 500 years. However, if Yoh wins this tournament, he becomes the Shaman King.
Netflix categorizes Shaman King as a fantasy anime. Additionally, the streaming service says the series falls into the genres of “Japanese, TV Shows Based on Manga, Anime Series, and Shounen Anime.” Another notable adjective that Netflix uses to describe the series is “exciting.”
When will Season 2 drop on Netflix?
Currently, Netflix only has one season of Shaman King. Currently, there are 13 episodes available on Netflix. Notably, the series is also available for download from the streaming platform. According to What’s on Netflix this is Season 1 of Season 4. So, when can fans expect to see Season 2?
What’s on Netflix reports that they’re “fully expecting the release of the second season in November 2021.” They base their projection on the scheduled release of the Shaman King Blu-Ray volumes. The release schedule is below.
- Volume 1 – August 25th, 2021 | Episodes 1-13
- Volume 2 – November 24th, 2021 | Episodes 13-26
- Volume 3 – February 23rd, 2022 | Episodes 27-39
- Volume 4 May 25th, 2022 | Episodes 40-52
While an early November release is anticipated, it is important to note that Netflix has not confirmed these dates. Keeping in line with that schedule, the following release dates are expected- Season 3 in February 2022 and the final season in May 2022.
