Jinger Vuolo Sends Drastic Message & Proves She’s Done Conforming
Jinger Vuolo is totally done following her parents’ strict rules! The Duggar daughter sent a clear message on Friday, announcing to everyone that she’s no longer conforming.
Duggar fans and critics know that the family adheres to a strict set of guidelines. The girls are expected to wear dresses or skirts and other modest clothing. They grow their hair out long. The kids must court rather than date. The list of rules goes on.
Over time, a few of the married Duggar women have chosen to do their own thing and decide which of their parents’ rules they want to keep or ditch. For example, Jill Dillard, Jessa Seewald, and Joy-Anna Forsyth have all been spotted in pants. Jill also got her nose pierced and hinted that she sometimes drinks alcohol. These aren’t monumental decisions for most people, but they’re a big deal for the Duggars.
Jinger is one of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s kids who isn’t afraid to be herself. A recent social media post proves she’s done conforming to her parents’ rules. But she has shared plenty of hints about stepping away from their strict beliefs in the past. She has kept her kids out of the spotlight, which is the opposite of what her own parents did while she was growing up. Jinger also splurges on expensive shoes and clothing despite her family’s motto to “buy used and save the difference.” She wears tank tops and short shorts now too.
Now, Jinger took yet another step toward becoming her own person.
Jinger Vuolo is done conforming
On Friday, Jinger made a huge statement on social media, proving that she’s done following all of her parents’ rules. In a new post, she revealed that she’s chopped off her hair. She also dyed it closer to its natural color. She documented the total transformation on social media for fans to see.
What does the Duggar family’s religion, the Institute of Basic Life Principles, say about women’s hair though? In a social media post, Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball chats about the family’s beliefs. Katie writes, “In the IBLP women do not cut their hair. They believe their hair is a glory to God. Men’s hair is to be kept short & neat. Women are to have long hair & curl their hair to please God.”
Then, Katie continues, “Bill Gothard preferred women to wear their hair in loose curls & loved their hair long. This was also Jim Bob Duggar’s preference. Jill Duggar stated on 19 kids & Counting that they permed their hair because it was what their father liked. Jinger chopping off her hair to shoulder length & dying it is a huge F U to her fundamentalist roots & family.”

I love it that finally the Duggar girls are doing what they want and not what their controlling parents want. They had such strict rules to follow they never were allowed to see what goes on in the real world. What happened to Josh is partly their parents fault teaching that sex is off limits as well as hand holding ,kissing hugging, and the list goes on. I always felt bad for the kids being so sheltered. So you go girls cut your hair color it wear shorts and pants and short skirts your not your mother that chooses to cover everything but her hands. And don’t even get me started on Jim Bob the perv. He’s so disgusting. Proud of the girls for the FU to their parents.
