Jeremy Vuolo Goes Back To College & Back To His Roots
In a new social media post, Jeremy Vuolo takes fans on a walk down memory lane. The former Counting On star revealed that he went back to college and back to his roots. He shared a photo, along with a caption that reflects on his past.
Today, Jeremy’s attending the Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles, California with the hope of becoming a pastor. He and his wife Jinger Duggar have two young daughters, Evangeline, 9 months, and Felicity, 3 years. While Jeremy and Jinger love life in Los Angeles, he is happy to look back on his past in this new post.
In the picture, Jeremy is standing beside a pastor. They’re surrounded by college students as they watch soccer on TV. Jeremy writes, “Attempting to explain a penalty shootout to a group of college kids, a Russian/Canadian Bible scholar, and @revaustintduncan. If I’m honest, I’m not sure it was a success.”
Where are Jeremy Vuolo’s roots?
Longtime Duggar fans might recall that Jeremy was a soccer player when he was first introduced to the family. He first started playing college soccer in 2006 while at Hartwick College. Then, he transferred to Syracuse University in 2010 and played one season of soccer there.
He played 16 games, starting in 15 of them and racking up an impressive 79 saves and three shutouts. The TLC star was the team captain and MVP at Syracuse.
Once he completed college, he signed with the Finnish Club AC Oulu and played 24 games. He then went on to play for the New York Red Bulls of the MLS in 2012.
For a little while, he took a break to pursue his passion for ministry. He ultimately decided to play one last time with the San Antonio Scorpions of the NASL in 2013. After playing for two seasons, he retired. In a blog post, he explained, “My lifelong passion of playing soccer for a living began to dwindle as a burning desire to serve God as a preacher and a pastor was growing.”
Though he doesn’t play soccer himself anymore, he’s shared snaps of himself playing soccer with his toddler daughter, Felicity. Plus, Jinger and Jeremy go to soccer games together on occasion. The family seems to be pretty sporty and enjoys going to LA Dodgers games too.
