Fans of the TLC reality TV show My Big Fat Fabulous Life are looking forward to Season 9, debuting this summer. Whitney Way Thore will return to share her weight loss journey, along with her relationships, friendships and business ventures. Fans last saw Whitney in Season 8, where she was dealing with some shocking news. She had discovered that her fiancé, Chase Severino, was having a baby with another woman. Meanwhile, at the time, she was isolated from family and friends during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Season 9 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life
While Whitney was going through drama on Season 8, it looks like Season 9 will also offer plenty for fans. On this season, we will get to see Thore moving back to Greensboro, NC, with her best pal, Buddy Bell. On top of this, Whitney will let us know how her virtual training business is going. Meanwhile, she has a major goal of becoming a certified personal trainer, which is facing roadblocks due to “anti-fat prejudices.”
In June, Screenrant reported that Whitney may have a new love interest in Season 9. In fact, a press release revealed that Whitney is exploring a new relationship. Reportedly, Thore is enjoying an online flirtation with a man who lives in Paris. The pair met while she was taking virtual French lessons. However, a long-distance relationship is never easy, so she and her oo-la-la lover are working to figure out exactly what they have.
When does the new season of My Big Fat Fab Life drop?

She captioned the images to write that the show returns on Tuesday, August 17 on TLC. Whitney went on to thank fans for sticking with them all these years and says she can’t believe this is Season 9 already.

Cast members on Season 9 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life
Besides Whitney, fans can expect to see some familiar faces in Season 9. Regular cast members Buddy Bell, Ashley Baynes, Heather Sykes, Todd Beasley, and Tal Fish will all be back. Meanwhile, fans will also get to see Whitney’s parents, Barb and Glenn. One major difference from Season 8 is that Whitney, her friends and family have all now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This means restrictions were lifted as to where TLC could film the show.
Fans will be pleased to see that Whitney’s best friend, Buddy Bell, is now living with her. However, many would like the pair to end up together. However, Buddy is in a relationship in Season 9, which will reportedly take up a lot of his time. Meanwhile, viewers will see more of Whitney’s friend and business partner, Jessica, as they work on the virtual weight loss and fitness program together. With Whitney enjoying a long-distance relationship with her man in Paris, it seems her ex-fiancé Chase Severino, won’t be back.
As a reminder, Season 9 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life will debut on TLC on Tuesday, August 17 at 9 pm ET/PT.
