It’s hard to make any marriage work. It’s even harder to make a marriage work when you marry a complete stranger. Season 12 of Married at First Sight revealed some interesting couples. Now, two of the couples that tried to make their marriage last have decided to part ways. Who are they and what new information is out about their splits?
Which Married at First Sight Season 12 couples are divorcing?
Two more couples from Season 12 of Married at First Sight are no more. Many thought Clara Berghaus and Ryan Oubre would make it last long term. As it turns out, they couldn’t make their love work. In fact, they were even planning to renew their vows on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2022. Clara jokingly told a fan on social media to send anyone who needed New Year’s Eve decorations her way.
E! News reported on their split and also how Clara is doing moving forward. At the time of their original announcement that they were heading for divorce, they said, “It’s not an easy decision to make, nor we do we take these next steps lightly.” Clara and Ryan continued, “Grateful to all who stood by us, and continue to stand by us as we make this very difficult decision. It goes without saying, we remain friends and hope for nothing but the best for each other.”
Clara went to TikTok to update fans on how she’s doing just days after they split. She said, “After an interesting turn of events it looks like I will be relating to Taylor Swift‘s rerecording of the Red album after all.” Clara’s post was by a screenshot of an announcement regarding their divorce.
A fan asked why she still had Ryan’s last name on her social media accounts. Clara responded saying, “Turns out all I needed to do to get people to spell my name correctly was get divorced.”
Which other couple got divorced?
Another couple to call it quits from Season 12 is Erik Lake and Virginia Coombs. The couple wanted to make sure no rumors escalated about their split. They filed for divorce earlier this summer. However, they didn’t really say much about it until now. E! shared their statement.
Erik and Virginia said, “We’ve made best efforts to keep some parts of our relationship out of the public eye. This entire process has been difficult as is without the constant chatter of public opinion.” The couple continued, “Contrary to popular belief, we’ve been together and trying to make our marriage work since Decision Day. While we have decided to get a divorce, we aren’t closing the doors on a possible future together.”
At the end of their statement, they added, “We love each other and will continue to navigate our new reality post show.”
Erik and Virginia’s divorce has been documented and will air on television.
