Did Jedidiah & Katey Duggar Break This Family Rule At Their Wedding?

Jedidiah and Katey Duggar Instagram, honeymoon

Jedidiah Duggar and Katey Nakatsu’s wedding video was recently released by the videographer. There’s both a shortened version featuring just the highlights, which is about five minutes long. The full ceremony video, which is close to 30 minutes long, was also uploaded to YouTube. Naturally, many fans are watching the video to catch a peek at the couple’s special day.

When announcing their marriage, the Duggar family wrote, “Jed and Katey have enjoyed a quiet, low-key relationship that has allowed them to prepare for a beautiful life together.” The couple’s courtship, engagement, and wedding were all kept private until after they had already tied the knot. Previous Duggar courtships have been featured on TLC’s Counting On or included on social media.

Despite the private courtship, engagement, and wedding, the couple wants to give fans an opportunity to be involved in their special day. So, they are sharing their wedding video with fans via social media. Fans assume this means that TLC won’t air the wedding as a special standalone episode.

Wait, are Jedidiah & Katey Duggar drinking alcohol in their wedding video?

Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball noticed that Jedidiah and Katey may have been drinking alcohol at their wedding. The problem isn’t their ages, as Jedidiah is 22 and Katey turns 23 later this month. The Duggar family doesn’t drink alcohol, so this could mean that Jedidiah and Katey are breaking a family rule.

In the video, the pair appears to take communion together during the ceremony. There is a wine glass full of a beverage resembling red wine. Katie Joy brings up the fact that it could be grape juice or wine. She also argues that communion isn’t a common occurrence at Duggar weddings. So maybe this is something that Katey Nakatsu and her family wanted to have at the wedding.

The Duggar family hasn’t said what was in the glass, so there’s no way to know for sure. It’s possible that the Duggars allow wine for communion, but the family hasn’t talked about that publicly before. Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo supposedly drank alcohol while out at a restaurant in Los Angeles, and Jill and Derick Dillard admitted to having drinks with cousin Amy King.

So, do you think Jedidiah and Katey Duggar enjoyed communion with a glass of wine or grape juice? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. I am sure it was grape juice just like we had at our wedding, the grape juice was in a goblet that the minister handed to my husband first and then to me….stop trying to cause all kinds of rumors

  2. The adult Duggar children have the right to do what ever makes them happy. If all people can worry about is what’s in a glass, they need to get a life.
