Big Brother 23 spoilers are starting to roll in as we gear up for premiere night on July 7th. According to Big Brother Network, a twist involving captains and teams has been confirmed. And, it sounds as if this twist will kick off at the very beginning of Season 23.
Big Brother 23 spoilers confirms teams and captains twist
Kicking off BB 23, executive producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan tell Parade, the theme will be a Big Brother Beach Club. Their goal is for the houseguests to feel as though they are on some sort of vacation after how crazy the last year has been.
We wanted our house guests to be able to feel like they’re on vacation. I think we’re all longing for our vacations to get out. It’s beach club meets casino; think Monte Carlo meets Vegas. It’s going to feel like a boutique hotel with a casino vibe.”
The occasion theme will allow the producers to introduce the high-stakes situation BB viewers and houseguests come to expect. Will the risk be worth the reward? That’s what the houseguests will find out during the 90-minute premiere next Wednesday.
The plan for the premiere is for the houseguests to move into the house in several groups of four. They will have to face off in a competition to determine who the team captains will be. Once selected, the captains get to watch clips that will be just 90 seconds long to learn about the other houseguests. Then, they will participate in a schoolyard-style pick based on what they just watched.
The team captains will be BUSY during the premiere as they enter a second competition to battle for the Head of Household position. The winner of the first Head of Household competition will also keep their team safe. The three losing teams will each have to nominate one person as the champion of their team. The champions participate in a risk or reward type of situation. Winning could offer safety for the whole team. But, losing? It could come with serious consequences.
Houseguests have had mixed feelings about this twist
The teams and captains twist has happened in the show before. It prevents a large alliance from forming early on in the season. But, houseguests in the past have had mixed feelings about this twist. Some noted it made it more difficult to play their game as an individual when they had a whole team to worry about. The twist can no doubt cause issues if a houseguest doesn’t vibe well with their team.
The cast remains a mystery
Unfortunately, the Big Brother 23 cast remains a mystery as the Premiere Night draws closer and closer. Typically, viewers would be gaining access to bios and interviews of the cast members at this point in time. However, it appears as if we won’t get our first look at the cast until Season 23 premieres in just a little over a week.
What do you think about the captains and teams twist coming to the Big Brother house this season? Are you looking forward to it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
