Is It Too Late For Jill & Jessa Duggar To Sue Josh For 2002 Molestations?
As we’ve reported, Josh Duggar was arrested by the feds in April. The eldest Duggar son is being accused of possessing child sexual abuse material. For now, he’s living with a third party while he awaits his trial in July. At that point, he may face up to 40 years in prison.
As he’s navigating this current legal battle, questions about his past have come up. Longtime fans of the Duggars will recall that Josh molested four of his sisters, including Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard, almost 20 years ago. The family never pressed charges or took legal action though. So, now fans are wondering if Jill and Jessa could do something about those molestations years later. Is it too late?
Josh Duggar could still be sued by his sisters?
There are many reasons that Jessa and Jill may not have sued their brother yet. They might be worried for their safety, but if he’s going to be locked up, he may not be able to retaliate. They may not have known all of their options before either. The possibilities are endless, and many fans have their own speculations about this.
As it turns out, it seems like it’s not too late for Jessa and Jill to take action. In a Duggar Facebook group, followers of the family began talking about the possibility of the girls suing their brother. One asks, “Is there a statute of limitations to report sexual abuse in the state of Arkansas? Asking because some of the adult Duggar girls are apparently trying to sue AGAIN for what Josh did to them.”
It’s unclear whether the rumors that Jill and Jessa are trying to sue Josh are true. This hasn’t been confirmed by the family or by Jill and Jessa. Still, fans think it’s a fair question to ask.
The fan continued, writing, “I also don’t think they realize that Jim Bob will get upset and will likely write them off if they attempt in any way to retaliate against ‘golden boy’ Josh.”
It’s worth noting that Jill’s husband Derick recently graduated from law school. He may be able to help his wife and sisters-in-law fight against Josh. He’s already spoken out against his brother-in-law many times.
So, do you think that Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard will sue Josh Duggar? Or do you think they will simply let the situation be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
