Why Is Austin Forsyth Testifying In Court?
Josh Duggar has been making headlines for his recent legal troubles. Another Duggar has his own legal battles going on right now, but fortunately, it’s for different reasons. Austin Forsyth is heading to court soon.
As we’ve reported, Josh was arrested a few weeks ago for the possession of child sexual abuse material. He had a detention hearing and was released on conditions. Now, he’s living with a pastor and his wife and is unable to see minors except for his own children. Anna and the kids have visited Josh since his arrest and hearing. His trial is set for July.
While most of the focus has been on Josh, Austin is also going to court soon.

We previously reported that Austin was dealing with some legal issues. Now, he’s finally going to court over them. The one-day trial is set for May 25, 2021.
He’s going to court over real estate issues. Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband is a contractor and flips homes. It looks like one of his recent projects didn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped.
After the home was purchased for $140,000 in June of 2018, the new homeowners realized that there was a problem. It seemed like there was an issue with the plumbing, as they noticed, “an unmistakable foul odor of human waste emanated from their yard.”
As it turns out, the septic system currently in place isn’t the right one for the property. This is what’s causing all of these issues, and it would be expensive to replace it and have the correct type installed. According to the court papers, this is something that should have been taken care of by Austin prior to selling the home. The Washington County Health Department is supposed to issue permits when homes are sold with septic systems. Though Austin said he had all of the necessary permits, he somehow skipped this one.
Austin doesn’t think he did anything wrong though. He says that he was “not required to obtain a permit.” He also denies that this is fraud or negligence.
We will have to see how things shake out in court next week. Hopefully, Austin’s and Josh’s cases will be the last for a while.
