Why Are ‘Unexpected’ Stars Lilly & Lawrence Overwhelmed & Annoyed?
In the trailer for the upcoming episode of TLC’s Unexpected, fans learn about some concerns Lilly Bennett has for her upcoming birth. However, most of them seem to stem from having a baby during COVID. Keep reading to find out why Lilly is annoyed and Lawrence is overwhelmed.
Notably, TV Shows Ace recently reports that Lilly Bennett gets some bad news. On TikTok, she talks about “surgery for ovarian cysts.” Sadly, the way the procedure is explained to her means that her “ovarian tubes seemingly die off.” Consequently, this means that Lilly won’t be able to have any more babies. However, this doesn’t seem to be the cause for concern in TLC’s trailer for the upcoming episode of Unexpected.
TLC’s Unexpected star Lilly Bennett annoyed by being pregnant during COVID
The clip begins with a very pregnant Lilly coming out of what looks like a medical facility. The 20-year old mother explains that “now that [she’s] 37 weeks pregnant,” she has weekly sonograms. However, at this point, it doesn’t seem like there’s any concern for her pregnancy. She explains that the point of the weekly check-ups is to check on the growth of her baby and the length of her cervix.
Lilly goes on to say some things that any woman pregnant during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic can relate to. “It really sucks being pregnant during COVID,” says Lilly. As a safety precaution during COVID, the father of Lilly’s baby, Lawrence Bishop, 19, can’t go to a lot of appointments. Lilly specifies that “he only gets to come to the ones that have ultrasounds and once the ultrasound is done he goes back to the car. Another thing Lilly dislikes about being pregnant during COVID is that her mom won’t be allowed in the delivery room.

Lawrence explains that he’s nervous and overwhelmed
However, once Lilly gets back in the car from this appointment, she shares some exciting news with Lawrence. She explains that she could have scheduled her appointment for the following week, but the doctor seems to think she will go into labor before then. She also shares that she’s 2.5 centimeters dilated.
While the couple is in the car, Lilly asks her boyfriend if he’s nervous about the fact that the baby is coming soon. Lawrence tries to front and says, “Do I look nervous?” However, the truth comes out and he admits that he’s nervous about the upcoming birth. In the show’s confessional segment, Lawrence goes on to explain that he’s overwhelmed and “it’s a lot of pressure.”
