Rachael Kirkconnell went to Instagram to share how she felt about the finale and the way things turned out. She shared multiple photos of herself throughout the season. In most of the photos, she was with the other girls. A few of the photos featured her and Matt. Rachael began the caption saying, “just when you think you found your way, life throws you onto a new path. it’s unpredictable, unexplainable, and things might not go the way you hoped for. while i certainly wish things turned out differently, i also believe there is a reason for everything.”
She went on to say that while one may not be able to control the curve balls sent their way, they can control how they deal with it. Rachael said she believes good can come out of every experience.
She continued saying, “this was supposed to be a monumental season, and one of the biggest disappointments has been the overshadowing of these beautiful women and their stories.” Rachael said the women on the season were extraordinary and very strong. She vowed to always stand by them and support them in their future endeavors.

Rachael said she knew Matt was special the night she met him. She prayed they would experience something great together if it’s what was meant to be.
Rachael said, “while i never expected this outcome, i respect his decision completely. of course i wish circumstances were different, but i still feel blessed for the time we did have together and the memories we made. i got to fall in love, and i truly believe he was the love of my life. he will always hold a piece of my heart. i’ll always be hopeful and believe what’s meant to be will be.”
She went on to say she hoped the conversations on After the Final Rose would spark conversations that should happen. She hopes it opens peoples minds to unlearn bias. Rachael wants viewers to educate themselves. She hopes the conversations shared will push some in the right direction to fight for change.
She knows it won’t happen overnight but hopes it’s the start of making a difference.
Rachael concluded saying, “we can change the world, together. i love you all and here’s to new beginnings.”
