‘Welcome To Plathville’ Season 3: What We Know So Far
Is Welcome to Plathville Season 3 in the works? It could be, but as of right now, nothing has been confirmed by TLC. Fans are still impatiently waiting for word that the show has been either renewed or canceled. Of course, if it is renewed, there are plenty of interesting storylines to come.
In a recent Instagram post, Max Kallschmidt, Moriah Plath’s boyfriend, hinted that the show may be returning to TLC. When a fan asked him about Season 3, he replied, “working on it.” This is only a hint that the third season might happen, so fans will have to wait to hear it from TLC.
When would the show return to TLC?
The first two seasons of the show premiered in November with the first airing in 2019 and the second in 2020. So, if TLC sticks with the same schedule lineup, the Plath family may return to TLC in November 2021.
It’s worth noting that the coronavirus pandemic could have a negative impact on the show. It’s unclear how far in advance the network films its shows though. They may not have even started recording the new season yet, leaving plenty of time for filming and production as the pandemic clears up.
TLC doesn’t typically announce renewals until closer to the premiere date, so it could be several months before we get an official announcement.
Welcome to Plathville Season 3 potential storylines
The first two seasons of the show were filled with drama between Olivia Plath and her in-laws, Kim and Barry Plath. As the second season wrapped up, Ethan Plath seemed to say his final goodbyes to his family. He said, “As far as I can see it, there still will be no contact between us. And I’d like to say goodbye to my siblings and say goodbye to you.”
So, while the family isn’t on good terms, it seems unlikely that we will see more conflict between Kim and Barry and Ethan and Olivia. From what Ethan said, it doesn’t look like they will be seeing each other any time soon. Of course, if they do reunite at any point in the future, there’s sure to be tension. There is a possibility that there will be uncomfortable confrontations between Moriah and her parents though.
The finale also alluded to the possibility of Ethan and Olivia moving from Cairo, Georgia. The home-buying and moving processes have the potential of taking up a fair amount of time in the third season.
Moriah and her boyfriend Max seem to have a solid relationship, despite them taking a short break. Viewers will likely get to see the relationship continue to evolve.
Micah is currently pursuing a career in modeling, so the new season could feature more behind-the-scenes shots of his modeling shoots.
Several of the kids, Lydia, 16, Isaac, 14, Amber, 11, Cassia, 9, and Mercy, 7, are still living with Kim and Barry. Perhaps viewers will get to know the kids better in the next season.
