Emmanuel Acho Questions If Chris Harrison’s Return Is ‘In The Best Interest’ Of Bachelor Nation
Emmanuel Acho may not be as new to Bachelor Nation as fans think. He’s been approached several times to appear on The Bachelorette. In a new interview, he explains why he’s always said no.
The former NFL player also weighs in on Chris Harrison’s future with the franchise. Does he think Chris Harrison should return as host?
Emmanuel Acho Calls Chris Harrison’s Earlier Remarks ‘Arrogant’ and ‘Ignorant’
Chris Harrison won’t be hosting Season 25’s After the Final Rose special. Fox Sports analyst and author Emmanuel Acho will temporarily step in. Chris Harrison took a step back from the show after facing backlash. He made insensitive comments during an interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay.
She’s now a correspondent with news magazine Extra. She interviewed Chris Harrison to get his thoughts on controversial contestant Racheal Kirkconnell.
Earlier this year, photos came to light of Kirkconnell wearing antebellum “old south” plantation attire. Since the photos were from 2018, Chris Harrison made the case that Rachael didn’t know better.
In the aftermath, Rachael Kirkconnell apologized for the racially insensitive behavior. Chris Harrison apologized for trying to defend her and “temporarily” left his hosting duties.
Emmanuel Acho appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week to talk about the issue. Fox News reports that Acho called Harrison’s words “arrogant” and “ignorant.”
And he thinks Chris Harrison would agree with that assessment.
But He Believes in ‘Accountability,’ Not ‘Cancel Culture’
Chris Harrison also ranted against the “woke police” and cancel culture during his interview on Extra. Emmanuel Acho agrees that cancel culture isn’t the route to go. Instead, he believes in “accountability.” And he gives Chris Harrison credit, saying, Harrison “he is taking accountability for his actions.”
Does that mean Chris Harrison should return as host? That’s up to the franchise to decide. Emmanuel Acho feels that the network – including the cast, producers and Harrison himself – need to decide what’s “in the best interest” of the show.
Regardless, the Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man” author thinks the show needs “diversity across every board.”
“Emmanuel, you’re like an Oreo, black on the outside & white on the inside.”

Why Did Emmanuel Acho Turn Down Bachelorette?
Emmanuel Acho was almost a competitor on The Bachelorette multiple times, including Hannah Brown’s season. However, he turned the network down three times. During his chat on Colbert, he explained his reasoning. He said he likes to keep his public life public and his private life private.
Does that mean there’s no chance he would take the lead role on The Bachelor? That remains to be seen. However, Stephen Colbert is already a fan. In his opinion, Emmanuel Acho would be an immediate “fan favorite” as a participant of either Bachelor Nation show.
