Will The ‘Punky Brewster’ Reboot Get Season 2?

After months of anticipation, the Punky Brewster reboot hit Peacock’s streaming service last month. All 10 episodes of the revival are now available to watch. The show got excellent reviews from fans and critics. What are the chances of another season?
Punky Brewster Reboot a Hit With Nostalgic Fans
The original Punky Brewster ran on NBC and syndication for four seasons from 1984 to 1988. Viewers found Punky’s unique style of wearing mismatched shoes and pigtails endearing. In fact, fashion trends at the time strongly reflected Punky’s fashion sense.
Soleil Moon Frye shot to stardom for her portrayal of the feisty child. Abandoned by her mother in a shopping center, Punky tried to make it on her own before lucking out by getting adopted by Henry (George Gaynes.)
The actress, now in her 40s, returned to her signature role for the reboot. But now Punky is all grown up with kids of her own – some of whom she adopted. Cherie Johnson reprises her role as Punky’s BFF Cherie in the Punky Brewster revival. Famed 90s movie star Freddie Prinze Jr. plays Punky’s ex-husband, Travis.
Punky Brewster is a bona fide hit with viewers and critics. Will it get a second season?
Demand Grows for Punky Brewster Season 2
Just 10 new episodes of Punky Power isn’t enough for viewers. After binging all ten episodes, fans took to Twitter to cajole Peacock into renewing the reboot.
One fan wrote on the platform that they loved Punky so much as a kid that they married their own Punky. “She wears Chuck Taylors, tie dye & even wears many of the boots Punky wears.”
Now that’s commitment to a beloved TV character. The fan also wrote that they “NEED” a Season 2 of the Punky Brewster reboot. And other fans agree.
THANK YOU to @moonfrye & @peacockTV for a totally awesome Season 1 of #PunkyBrewster & we NEED a Season 2! The reboot was very much needed-so, again THANK YOU! Truth be told, I married my own Punky, she wears Chuck Taylors, tie dye & even wears many of the boots Punky wears.

Will Peacock listen to the calls for another season of Punky? Did the reboot leave room for more episodes?
This section contains SPOILERS for the Punky Brewster reboot.
Has Peacock Confirmed Renewal?
Punky Brewster isn’t Peacock’s only blast from the past. They also revived Saved by the Bell. In fact, they renewed SBTB for a second season just two months after it premiered on the streaming service.
Is there any hope for a Season 2 of Punky Brewster?
Yes! Based on the positive feedback, there is absolutely a chance that Peacock will renew. But is there a way to continue the story?
The Punky Brewster reboot finally addressed the mystery surrounding Punky’s mom. In the last episode of Season 1, Punky and her mom, Susan, finally meet again after 30+ years of no contact. As Too Fab notes, the two ended on good terms, but there’s more story left untold. NYPD Blue actress Sharon Lawrence plays Punky’s mom.
The reboot also toyed with the idea that Travis and Punky might reunite. And of course, there’s the endless antics young Izzy (Quinn Copeland) could get into.
Peacock has yet to respond to calls for a Season 2. Follow us on Twitter for all the latest TV news.
