‘RHOC’: Kelly Dodd’s Stepdaughter Calls Her Out For Racism
It does not look like Kelly Dodd will be winning stepmother of the year anytime soon. It is bad enough her controversial social media postings have had viewers call for her firing. Now, stepdaughter Veronica Leventhal has taken to Instagram in an attempt to school Dodd on white privilege. This comes on the heels of Kelly screaming she’s “black” on part two of the RHOC reunion. It shook her cast mates and viewers, alike. But, this is not the first time the housewife has been tone deaf to social issues.
Kelly and COVID- The Unmasking
COVID hit the world hard in early 2020. It even shut down production on Season 15 of the RHOC. But, to Kelly, it was just another day in the office. She said she traveled and went on with her life because she had business to do. Her then-fiancé, Rick Leventhal continued to work out of New York and owned a home there. They had to get his place ready to sell along with his Florida home. Yet, it was her comment saying COVID was God’s way of thinning the herd that really stuck with people. She also equated it to a stronger flu and caught heat for no visible masks at her bridal shower. Even when she posted a photo with masks, there was a lack of social distancing.
Her wedding guest list got cut significantly down to twenty-eight people. When asked at the reunion if she regrets having a wedding during a pandemic, she said no one got sick. Her cast mates did feel it was a bit off of her to do it at that time but Kelly still felt it was fine. She tried to say masks do not always protect you like your pants cannot protect you from a fart. This was as she sat in a room with three people who had the virus: Andy Cohen, Emily Simpson (husband, Shane was hospitalized for 8 days), and Shannon Beador. Kelly will never really take accountability for how she feels and the things she says and posts. Then, it took a racial turn.
Is Kelly A Racist RHOC?
Though she likes to believe she supports everyone, her actions say different. Kelly caught a lot of slack for wearing a ‘Drunk Wives Matter’ hat at her bridal shower during the BLM movement. At the reunion, she claimed she was black. However she was shut down because she has no idea what it is like to be seen as an African-American woman. She was also photographed with someone deemed a white supremacist at Emily’s 45th birthday party. Kelly posted a photo and a long comment but deleted it and chose to do a live instead. She claimed it was not her friend and threw her supposed good friend, Emily under the bus. This build-up led Rick’s 29-year-old daughter to speak out.

Veronica basically said this: “I don’t think it’s okay for people who say they’ve experienced racism or prejudice to then turn around and inflict that same bigotry on other people.” Her efforts were to school the “uneducated” but it was a clear jab at Kelly. Fans truly hope this does not cause a rift between her and her father and he supports his daughter. But, time will tell. It already looks like Kelly is on the RHOC chopping block.
